AviatorMan Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 Hi, am new to FSUIPC and having a few problems. It is FSUIPC4 installed in P3Dv2.5. Have Saitek Yoke, Quadrant and Pedals. Have made assignments in P3D CONTROLS, then calibrated axes in FSIUPC. Not sure if this was the right thing to do, but generally everything seems to work ok, but have these questions: 1) for single engine a/c should I assign as the 1st (of two) throttle/prop/mixture or assisgn in the general engine controls (which do not distinguish multiple engines)? I have done the former, and everything seems to work ok, except: 2) calibration for the A2A Comanche does not match the calibration for engine 1 controls, but works okay for A2A Cherokee (which does not have PROP) and for default and Carenado single engine a/c. 3) Cannot find the FSUIPC.ini file. Have read your responses to others questioning this, and have searched as you recommend, but it does not seem to be there. Mike

Unless you want to assign things differently for different aircraft types, there's nothing wrong with assigning everythnig in FS/P3D and still using Calibration in FSUIPC. In fact that was how it was always done -- assignments in FSUIPC were a later addition. 1) for single engine a/c should I assign as the 1st (of two) throttle/prop/mixture or assisgn in the general engine controls (which do not distinguish multiple engines)? It depends whether you want a reverse section of the lever. The single throttle assignment, on the first tab (with elevator, airleron and rudder) is the "generic all-engine" throttle, the one those with only a single throttle lever might use. But it has no reverse capability. The separate engine calibration section allows a reverse zone (optionally disabled by the top left NRZ option). 2) calibration for the A2A Comanche does not match the calibration for engine 1 controls Sorry, I don't know what you mean there. 3) Cannot find the FSUIPC.ini file. Have read your responses to others questioning this, and have searched as you recommend, but it does not seem to be there. All FSUIPC's settings are stored in the FSUIPC4.INI file, which is a standard Windows-style configuration settings file. ALL of FSUIPC's files, including itself, are installed in the Modules subfolder in your FS/P3D installation. Just look there. Maybe you simply don't recognise it because you have left Windows Explorer to hide the proper filenames from you. Best to turn that optin off, as described in the FSUIPC user guide. Pete
