Following the last two up dates I am nolonger able to get FS2004 and AFCAD to see oneanother. Would you please advise. I am running Windows 7 Pro. and run all my flight sim stuff on a secong disk, and it is in "Program Files" / "Microsoft Games"/ FS9 Regards Dave Heavey

FSUIPC3., the one for FS9, has not been updated for years, so what exactly do you mean by "the last two updates"? You need to look elsewhere. Perhaps you are running FS "as administrator" and AFCAD normally, or vice versa? That would prevent them communicating. If you think there's a problem I'd need to see the FSUIPC.LOG file, from the FS Modules folder -- but close down FS first. Pete
Big Dave Posted September 23, 2015 Author Report Posted September 23, 2015 Hi Peter. Sorry for the duplicate entries but I thought the irst one had not gone through. Having looked on the modules folder I find that there is not a Log file listed. I am therefore listing what information I have been able to obtain. Listed files:- FSUI.DLL 01/09/2004 FSUIPC.DLL 09/09/2013 FSUIPC INSTALL 22/09/2015 FSUIPC.KEY 22/09/2015 File Version :- 3.9.9.9 Product Version :-3.999z8 Date Modified :- 09/09/2013. I hope this will be of some help to you . I have checked thew properties of FS, AFCAD, and FSUIPC and they are all the same. Thanks, Dave
Pete Dowson Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Having looked on the modules folder I find that there is not a Log file listed. I am therefore listing what information I have been able to obtain. If there is no log file then FSUIPC has never been run, as it ALWAYS produces a log file. Listed files:- FSUI.DLL 01/09/2004 FSUIPC.DLL 09/09/2013 FSUIPC INSTALL 22/09/2015 FSUIPC.KEY 22/09/2015 FSUI is part of FS and nothing whatsoever to do with FSUIPC. It is FS's user interface -- all the menus and things. FSUIPC INSTALL will actually be FSUIPC INSTALL.LOG. You appear to have Windows hiding filenames from you -- please do turn that stupid option off. It does advise you to do this in the FSUIPC documentation. File Version :- 3.9.9.9 Product Version :-3.999z8 Date Modified :- 09/09/2013. And as you see, it is over two years old.! So please explain what you mean by this: I have been using a registered version of FSUIPC for many years now and have had no problems with using AFCAD. Following the last two up dates So far nothing you show makes sense. And either the log is there and you don't see it, or FSUIPC is not being run. In the latter case it would mean that the Modules folder you are looking in is NOT the one related to the installation of FS which you are running -- you must have another. The fact that FSUIPC is not even running would of course explain immediately why AFCAD isn't connecting to it. Without knowing what the "last two updates" you refer to means, I'm afraid I haven't any further way to help you. Pete
Big Dave Posted September 23, 2015 Author Report Posted September 23, 2015 Hi again Pete, I have looked all over my machine and there is not a file FSUIPC.LOG anyware. I only recently checked for an update for FSUIPC and ended up with Version 3.9998 as is shown on your web page in Simflight. It shows there that it was modified on 09/09/2013. As the version I was running with was older than this I naturally installed this version. I have checked and I have got "View hidden files " activated. Sorry to be a pain. I have now turned four score so please be gentle with me. Best regards, Dave

As the version I was running with was older than this I naturally installed this version. There was little change in any case from the versions before that. I am positive that updating FSUIPC is nothing to do with it. If there is no log then FSUIPC is not running, which can only mean that you are loading FS9 from a different installation, not the one where FSUIPC is installed. An additional proof that this is so is that there is no FSUIPC.INI file either That's the file which would contain your settings, and a default setup is generated the first time FSUIPC is run. I have checked and I have got "View hidden files " activated. That would make no difference at all because none of the files associated with FSUIPC are hidden. The option you have to change, as documented in the FSUIPC user guide, is Hide extensions for known file types That needs to be unchecked to see the ".log" and ".ini" types of the main files you have missing.
