I purchased FSUIPC4 from simMarket on March 04, 2010 and recently downloaded and installed the newest version.  When I tried to register the new version my older version was deleted and the registration failed because it did not recognize my Key as valid.  I have been unable to restore the previous version, however, I can uninstall the new version and reinstall the older version, but that might not work either.  Is there a solution to this problem?  When I installed the previous version in 2010, I was running Windows 7 or 8, but I am now running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Your topic talks about "FSUIPC 4.939t", which is an old version. Please try installing the current supported version, 4,949.

The Registration system has never been changed. You are making a mistake. All three parts must be as original -- name, email and key. Cut and paste if you aren't sure.

I purchased FSUIPC4 (the only designation listed there) for the first time from Simmarket on 12/27 2015 and could not register it because I was told I had the wrong key when I tried. I am sure I used the key as given and my name and e mail correctly. ( on my Win 7 Professional computer, there seems to be no way to cut and paste from Sim Market. I guess I'm just ignorant if there is one). I told simmarket about the problem and they said they could not fix the problem , only you could. Please help.

What do you mean by "the only designation listed there"?

and could not register it because I was told I had the wrong key when I tried.

If the key is valid, the registration can be judged to be invalid for only one of two reasons:

1. There is an error in the Name and/or Email field.

2. The date set in the computer is earlier than your purchase date.

The latter can happen if your PC is new or has been completely reset (lost its CMOS clock setting).

I am sure I used the key as given and my name and e mail correctly. ( on my Win 7 Professional computer, there seems to be no way to cut and paste from Sim Market.

I just select each part, separately (use the mouse, hold the left button whilst dragging over the data to be "cut and paste" (it should actually be "copy and paste" because you leave the original intact). Then, with the correct part highlighted, press Ctrl+Insert.  Then, with the mouse select the field in the Registration entry field, and press Shift+Insert. Do this for each of the three fields separately.

This is standard in all Windows (and mine is Win7 Pro too).

Thank You.  Your method of transferring the numbers worked fine and I am now registered. (Same numbers I put in but the zero, I think looked a little weird- differences in USA and European keyboards?

But I have a more serious problem that I hope you can help me with, although I will understand if you don't have the time or inclination.  I also purchased the full Spad.next from Simmarket  and got notified by it that it could get no response from my Saitek FIP's- I removed the drivers- because they (the FIP's) were not recognized by the Saitek Direct Control.  I  have redownloaded  the Devices and the FIP's. I got half the FIP's (I have ten) lighting up as Spad.next ads and half lighting up as Saitek ads (weird?) but no instrument faces.  I removed Spad.next and now have everything (yoke , BIP, multipanel, switch panel, radio panel, extra quadrant and combat rudder) working with Saitek drivers but the FIP's still only  do their advertising dance.  I've been waiting weeks for a response from Saitek (MadKatz) and have found nothing on the web that helps.  I'm currently trying to get FSX-Steam to work on  4 monitors, using the fourth one to display just the instruments. I've had a little success but it's tough because FSX doesn't remember and you have to start over each time to set up and it will also suddenly go bonkers on you to boot, like you just hit a nerve somewhere.  If you or anyone knows how to fix the Direct Control problem I'll go back to Spad.next registered. Please help if you can.

I'm asfraid I'm really not able to help with SPAD (which I know nothing about) or Saitek devices. FSUIPC does read standard jystick devices (ie USB connected devices recoginsed by Windows as joystick types), but it includes no display drivcers whatsoever -- they are all so different depending on implementation.

I did get pretty deeply involved with GoFlight devices and produces some software, and later Lua plug-ins, which try to handle those well, but generally their own drivers do a good job with standard FS aircraft implementations. You only have to mess about when using them with non-standard add-ons like PMDG Boeings and Aerosoft Airbuses, or with alternative avionics systems like PM, Prosim or Sim-Avionics.

There are facilities in the Lua plug-in libraries for writing plug-ins to handle almost any type of HID devices, but you have to be able to investigate the actual encoding of the data yourself to determine how to drive displays correctly.

Aren't the window positions remembered if you save a flight then reload it? I'm afraid I've never tried (or wanted) to use multiple Windows with any version of FS -- it ruins performance and therefore smoothness too much. I'd rather use a Network for separate windows. My own cockpit uses a 10 foot wide projected image for just the external scenery.  All the avionics are on separate PCs, courtesy of Prosim737
