Failed to obtain SIM1 Frictions access in P3D

Hi Pete,

   I tried to install the frictions.lua patch for P3d V3.1 but It isn't working. In the FSUIPC.log I get the error "Failed to obtain SIM1 Frictions access: no frictions facilities available!". I have it running perfectly on my FSX accel installation. I looked up previous threads on the topic and found out it might have something to do with the SIM1.DLL. I haven't changed or modified mine since installing P3D. Is there anything I can do to sort out this issue? I am using an unregistered version of FSUIPC 4.948.

Two problems:

 

1. Version 4.948 was released BEFORE P3D3.1 and is not compatible at all. You will probably get crashes. ALWAYS keep your FSUIPC up to date. Nothing before 4.949h is supported at present, and that works with P3D up to version 3.2.2.

 

2. You cannot use any Lua plug-in without paying for an registering FSUIPC. Plug-ins are one of the benefits of purchase. The friction changes you see in FSX must be from the default patch FSUIPC applies in any case.

 

Do NOT modify SIM1 ever. You'll wreck many things.
