Hi all

I've just experienced a crash in P3D v3.2 that seems to be FSUIPC related. It has just started happening with no changes to my system.

I can load the scenario screen, however, as soon as I click Fly, P3D crashes with no error message being displayed. I have disabled all modules in dll.xml and exe.xml and P3D loads fine. Enabling them one at a time is fine, with the exception of FSUIPC v 4.949. I've tried reinstalling FSUIPC as well. The log file is below.

Anything that I can try to eliminate these errors occurring?

I've just experienced a crash in P3D v3.2 that seems to be FSUIPC related. It has just started happening with no changes to my system.

The only other times I've seen those symptoms has been narrowed down to a corrupt P3D install.

Which version of FSUIPC? This line seems to indicate it is the wrong version, not one for P3D3.2.3.2.

94 ### Failed to obtain SIM1 Frictions access: no frictions facilities available!

There's only two ways that can happen - a corrupt SIM1.DLL (part of P3D) or the wrong version of FSUIPC ...  the one you should be using, at minimum, is 4.949h. Unfortunately you've removed the top few lines of the log which tell me these things. I don't even know if you are running a registered version or not, which can be crucial! Please NEVER delete any lines in a log. You can obscure your email address if you like, but never delete any lines please.

Incidentally, if you had checked in Download Links you would have seen that there's an interim update which fixes one bug which may help -- 4.949i. Have you tried that?

To test properly that there's no interaction between FSUIPC and other loading DLLs you should have renamed your DLL.XML file and reinstalled FSUIPC4 so that only it loads.

Apologies Pete, I seem to have narrowed down the cause after further digging and testing. Seems to be a different DLL that isn't playing ball with FSUIPC for some reason...

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Yes, but also check that you are using FSUIPC 4.949i, just in case!

Dear Peter,

I purchased and installed the Lockheed Martin P3D Academic version 3.2 and installed in Windows 10 with no problems. I tried using my CH Products yoke and pedals and they are not working properly. Most functions are not working. I have not installed the CH Manager 4.55a or FSUIPC4 version 4.949. P3D does not name the yoke and pedals but identifies as Control Manager ID#001 and

Control Manager ID#002.

Can you please provide any help to have P3D version 3.2 using FSUIPC4 ver 4.949 to have the yoke and pedals function normally?

Thank You,

Paul Wayne

Please note that the CH yoke and pedals were working fine without FSUIPC installed on Windows-7, this anomaly occurred when I updated to Windows-10. I have FSUIPV4 installed on my Win-8.1 PC with FSX and works perfect.

Thank You,

First, please note that not only have you posted almost the same message twice (why not just edit the earlier one?), you have added your messages to a thread entitled "FSUIPC and P3D v32 crashing", when your question is most certainly not at all related to this particular subject.

By posting in a different thread you miss the possibility of someone who could actually help you noticing and actually doing so. You should post it as a new thread with an appropriate title, such as "CH yoke and pedals not working in Windows 10, please help".

I'm afraid I most certainly cannot help. To start with I don't have Windows 10 and most certainly don't intend to update to it, and I don't have any CH products. I'm sure someone who has both might be able to help. All I can note for you is that if Windows doesn't see them properly, such that you can calibrate them, and P3D doesn't either, then FSUIPC is most unlikely to also as it uses the same standard DirectInput methods.

But surely you must have tried them in FSUIPC? You say you have it but haven't installed it. Why not? Why ask without even trying?

Incidentally, for P3D3.2 you need at least version 4.949h, and there's a version 4.949k available too now which would be better. See the Download Links subforum.

One other hint -- try posting the question, properly entitled, in the P3D forum on AVSIM, and also at ch-hangar where there is specialist assistance with CH products.(http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/).
