ashbenfield Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 Hi, Pete im wondering if you can help me. Hopefully something simple. Ive just purchased and registered FSUIPC, started following a tutorial on how to set up through Angle of Attack 737 training. My version is FSUIPC Version 4.09. FSX SE, windows 10. I select a button on my Saitek yoke for example, then select "select for fs control" to the right. Then I click on the drop down menu for "control sent when button pressed". When the drop down menu drops, there are very limited number of options. For example I can't select elevator trim up or down. The first option for me is " Adf1 Use Frac Dec". Whilst in tutorials I see the first option is "Abort". So clearly something different going on here. If you need anymore info let me know. Help would be muchly appreciated as its annoying the s*^t out of me. Thank you
Pete Dowson Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 My version is FSUIPC Version 4.09. FSX SE, windows 10. Surely it can't be as old as 4.09! That date's back to the start of FSX, 10 years ago, and certainly won't work with FSX-SE. The current version is 4.949h and there is an interim update available called 4.949i. Apart from probably crashing FSX-SE, one of the main symptoms of using the wrong version of FSUIPC would be for it not to be able to locate the Controls list in a different version of the FS module "CONTROLS.DLL". If that occurs the only controls you eill see are those added by FSUIPC, with none of FS's inbuilt ones. ALWAYS look for the latest version. There is a lot of information about supported versions, and links to downloads, in the SubForums here. Please use them. And whenever reporting a problem or asking for help, please find your FSUIPC4.LOG file (in FS's Modules folder), and paste its contents here. That tells me a lot. Pete
ashbenfield Posted March 19, 2016 Author Report Posted March 19, 2016 Ah ok...I only downloaded that yesterday. Weird(stupid) to be given a nearly 10 yr old file to download but anyway. Thanks for your reply. I googled an update for FSUIPC and downloaded to the latest version. All seems good. A simple fix :) as I hoped. Enjoy!
Pete Dowson Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 Ah ok...I only downloaded that yesterday. Weird(stupid) to be given a nearly 10 yr old file to download but anyway. WHERE did you download it from, please? There are only two valid sources, and they've not changed since 2003. One is the same one linked to by the purchase page on SiMarket, which is www.schiratti.com/dowson. The other in in the Download Links subforum here, where you've come! In fact there's usually a more up to date interim release here too. Thanks for your reply. I googled an update for FSUIPC and downloaded to the latest version. Why did you Google it when I told you in my reply above? Did you not even both to read it all? How did you miss this bit? There is a lot of information about supported versions, and links to downloads, in the SubForums here. Please use them. Pete
