Hey guys,

Here's a question - I own the HOTAS warthog and I was wondering if I could assign a switch that toggles between normal thrust and thrust reverse in such a way that once the switch is ON, if I move forward the thrust levers, I get reverse thrust, and if the switch is in OFF position, the quadrant acts "normal"

Is such thing possible ? thanks for your help.

See the User Contributions subforum above. There's a thread there entitled

Look, sigh, i bought your product, I actually spent money on it and I would very much like to take use of it.

having said that, I honestly lack the knowledge how to manipulate my sim using LUA, and although i followed his tutorial to the letter, I still wasn't able to accomplish what I set out to do.

So I implore you, please help me out, sir - Am I asking too much here ?

I could send you my order details in PM should you so desire.

Thank you.

Sorry, you spent money on a tool that enables you to do what you want. But a tool needs work.

I am not the author of the Lua plug-in you seem to need to use, and the facilities you want from FSUIPC were never promised in the product package. Everything Lua can do is a bonus, and there's NEVER been any extra charge made for any of the many additional facilities implemented over the many years FSUIPC has been in continuous development.

I take strong objection to your attempted use of something tantamount to blackmail to cajole me into spending time on some rather odd and unrealistic facility (to my mind) which I did not invent and with which I have no interest nor time. If the original author cannot help then I'm afraid you'll have to work it out yourself.

If you had just asked for specific help in understanding something in the Lua code, or in the other User's instructions, then maybe I could have looked. But your attitude is wrong.

I just needed help, that's it. didn't mean to blackmail you into helping me.. I just thought that since you were the author of FSUIPC, you will want to provide help to your customers. I'm sadden to say that in my experience this is not the case.

Sorry to have bothered you with my inane issues.

It was the way you asked, which was not nice at all, and pretty much guaranteed to get an adverse reaction. If you peruse the messages here I try my best to help every one who asks.

I will help if you would like to ask specific questions about things you don't understand, but I cannot explain someone else's program anyway. Just tell me what specifically about it is giving you problems. Maybe I can fathom it out, maybe not. It's just that I didn't write that program, I did assume, because it had been used by many others without my help, that it was explained in its thread. Did you look through the thread itself? Maybe your questions were already answered?

You could do what I did - although it would most likely require to buy even another product!

One of my numerous gadgets is a Hagstrom Keyboard Encoder. One of the switches is programmed so that it shuts off the main throttle, then engages the thrust mechanism. I don't know about other encoders, but mine (KE-108USB) will handle up to 64 keystrokes in one "command." I'm currently only using 41 of the 108 available positions - my next projects on the horizon are to build a small keypad exclusively for ATC (the canned variety in FSX) and a specific control mechanism for the GPS 500.

Once upon a time I did some moderately serious programming, but not any more. I've gotten to the point if I can't solve it with hardware, I don't do it!

Good luck on your own project.
