Unwanted Auto-Center

Hello,

In FSX (Steam Edition), I am unable to correctly get my hat switch (T flight stick X) to pan without auto-centering. No matter what settings I pick, whether I make it an axis or a button press, whether "repeat" is checked or not, the view always snaps back to center immediately after the hat is released. I followed the instructions in the guide and have the same issue. Am I missing something?

did you deactivate Controller in FS?
