outoppie Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Good Day, First post by brand new FSUIPC user so please excuse if not done correctly. I have FSX Deluxe with acceleration pack, CH Products Yoke, Pedals and TQ, and I am trying the easiest first by using profile of default Cessna 172 using only the CH yoke, axis and buttons and doing all through FSUIPC. I have registered FSUIPC since last week and only (for the time being) want to assign and calibrate axis and buttons through FSUIPC. I have read all related information from the user guides step by steps and still cannot get beyond the assignment stage. After completing all axis assignments I then click on calibration, press start button, move the elevator/aileron or any of the other axis but the numbers do not move up or down. Please tell me I'm missing something here. After assigning must I then press ok before moving to calibration? the user guide is not very clear as to at what part of the assign/calibrate sequence to press the ok button. I have disabled joy stick and made sure no axis is assigned in FS I am pressing "direct to FSUIPC Calibration" as each axis in the assignment process is recognized. Any assistance would be gratefully accepted. Thank you

There's no "Start" button. Where are you actually looking. Please tell me what you are actually assigning to. 7 minutes ago, outoppie said: After assigning must I then press ok before moving to calibration? No, you don't really need to. 7 minutes ago, outoppie said: I am pressing "direct to FSUIPC Calibration" as each axis in the assignment process is recognized. Okay. And which selections there are you making? The calibrations section will receive changes for any method of assignment, including those "to FS controls" in FSUIPC, and using FS to assign. Most beginners start out just using FSUIPC calibration, not assignment. Is there a particular reason you are jumping in so deep so soon? Before proceeding to more questions, it would help if I can see what you've done so far. Find the FSUIPC4.INI file in the FS modules folder and post it here. It is an ordinary text file so you can cut and paste into a message. Pete
outoppie Posted February 8, 2017 Author Report Posted February 8, 2017 Good Day Pete, Many thanks for your speedy response. I bought the registered copy because I wanted to have aircraft specific control settings and, after asking questions regarding using different fsxcfg files to accomplish this(on various fs forums), I was told FSUIPC was the way to go. I jumped in at the deep end because, after reading the manuals and checklists etc, it seemed as though I could do each aircraft( now profile) in one go. First the axis setting then the calibration followed by the buttons. I chose the C172 default and to use the CH Yoke only for this aircraft, as a starting point as it seemed to be the simplest aircraft/control configuration. After sending my above post I reread all the relevant pages and started again step by step and finally realized I had missed 1 small detail( senior moment I'm afraid) so I must apologize for jumping in with the post too soon. I have finished processing the C172 with the exception of the hat switch which I will go back and complete. I have flown the aircraft and all is ok except the R/H brake needs fine tuning as it is sticking. I will send you a copy of the ini file when I have sorted the problem with brakes, and would be grateful for your comments. Once again, apologies' and thank you Mike El Pilarejo
