Voice Recognition not working

Recommended Posts

Hi, recently purchased the game (steam version). I've set up voice recognition and trained it to work. After numerous different attempts (running as admin, reinstalling etc.). I've had no luck with the voice recognition. Tried looking through the logs but couldn't find anything. A common issue I noticed was that towerspeak.exe was left running after closing the Tower!3D. So that explains the end of the log.

Some details on my system.
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Voice Recognition and System language: U.S. English
Region is set to English (Finland) along with keyboard type.
System specs: i7 6700k, 16GB DDR4, GTX 980ti

Screen is exactly the same, clicking on "Get Started" brings up a troubleshooting window for Voice Recognition, which seems rather weird.

I've already set the speech profile up and made sure that the language is English U.S.

EDIT:

I tried the game on a VM-machine running Windows 7 64-bit. It worked perfectly when running as admin. Do you guys have any frequent programs that might cause interference with voice recognition?

UPDATE:

Performed a clean install of the OS and the game started working like magic. No idwa what applications could have caused an issue. I'll keep installing my software back and report back if I discover an app that's causing the issues

Hi All,

Had problems to but after the following settings and actions it works perfectly on Windows 7 Ultimate:

1. Enable Speech Recognition (English US) on Windows via Control > Ease of Access > Start Speech recognition

2. Start Windows Speech Recognition BUT set it as "Off: Do not listen to anything I say" but LEAVE IT RUNNING (via Control > Ease of Access > Start Speech recognition)

3. Start Tower3D Pro as Administrator (!) by right mouse click and choose "Run as Administrator"

One other Tip! In FULL SCREEN MODE you can't move the windows to a second monitor. This is only possible when you unselect the Fullscreen tick box in settings

Happy controlling!
