Alekiah Posted August 29, 2017 Report Posted August 29, 2017 Hi guys, I recently performed a clean install of P3Dv3.4.2 and most of my addons, and in order for my ACARS application for my virtual airline to operate, I need FSUIPC. I've run the installer exe and was given the chance to enter the registration -- all seemed fine and jazzy. However, FSUIPC doesn't appear under the addons tab within the simulator, though all of my other addons (GSX, the like) do appear. I've had FSUIPC run successfully on P3D before, so I'm not certain as to why it may not be working now. Here's the install log: Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.971 Looking in registry for FSX install path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"SetupPath" Not there, so looking in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"AppPath" ... Thomas Richter Posted August 30, 2017 Report Posted August 30, 2017 Hi, did you install with Administrator privileges, mouse right-click ? Thomas
Alekiah Posted August 30, 2017 Author Report Posted August 30, 2017 (edited) Greetings, Indeed, I installed both P3D and FSUIPC with administrator privileges using right-click. I've spent more time in the forums today, and I've seen many people mention a file named FSUIPC.ini or FSUIPC4.ini. I've spent a lot of time today looking through the Modules folder, and my Prepar3Dv3 folders in both Local and Roaming AppData, and the FSUIPC.ini or FSUIPC4.ini files aren't present anywhere; I've even run a search on all of my drives for them. It just seems like the .ini files aren't being installed at all when I run the FSUIPC installer. Many people recommended going through your Windows Explorer view settings to make certain that known file types and their extensions aren't hidden, which they aren't, so I know it isn't being hidden -- the .ini file just isn't there. Thanks for the reply, Matt Edited August 30, 2017 by Alekiah
YukonAV8 Posted September 12, 2017 Report Posted September 12, 2017 If you look in C:\Users\mdamm87\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\dll.xml do you see an entry: <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> If that entry is there and still not showing up in the add on menu, I wonder if it has to do with the fact that you installed Prepar3d to the root of d:\ and not to a folder like d:\prepar3d Andy
