Timothy Metzinger Posted August 7, 2018 Report Posted August 7, 2018 P3D version 4.3.29.25520, FSUIPC V5.14. Even with default aircraft, the create mouse macro facility doesn't work as described. I get no Simconnect window nor any boxes around clickable things in the aircraft. I'd seen in some other posts that this may be a known issue, and apologies if that is so., but at least one recent thread seemed to indicate that it SHOULD work.

You must be doing something wrong. Did you click "Creat mouse macro" and give a name for the macro file to be created? Then OKayed out of FSUIPC Options? 3 hours ago, Timothy Metzinger said: I get no Simconnect window nor any boxes around clickable things in the aircraft. Er, why do you think you get boxes around clickable things? The facility does nothing to the panel display. it just sits there awaiting your mouse click on such a "clickable thing." It is working perfectly, I assure you, and as documented and illustrated. Pete

Pete I will try again. Sorry about the box thing, that was earlier versions I guess. But so far, I click on create mouse macro, then give the macro file a name, then click OK TO get back to the sim. When I click on something, nothing happens, and I'm expecting a disconnect window to pop up so I can name the action I just did. UPDATE: Found the Issue.... I had disabled message display in the general options. Edited August 7, 2018 by Timothy Metzinger

There were never boxes around clickable parts The earlier versions (FS4, FSX and P3D1-3) used hooks into the ctual code to trap the mouse click. that's being done for me now by P3D, part of its Programmer Development Kit (PDK). Makes the code in FSUIPC much simpler and more foolproof! 😉 44 minutes ago, Timothy Metzinger said: When I click on something, nothing happens What "something"? Please give me a specific example, with a specific default aircraft. All the clickable switches I can try here provide the correct response. 46 minutes ago, Timothy Metzinger said: I'm expecting a disconnect window to pop up "SimConnect" I assume you mean! :-) 46 minutes ago, Timothy Metzinger said: so I can name the action I just did. Test it first, via TAB, as it says. Pete
Timothy Metzinger Posted August 7, 2018 Author Report Posted August 7, 2018 As noted above P3D had messages disabled. With them reenabled the facility works as described. Whether it will work with the MU-2, we'll have to wait and see. Thanks.

Ah, sorry. missed that. I'll need to update the documentation to mention that. It disables all SimConnect stuff, from all programs, just excepting Menus. There isn't really a good way I can make this into a menu, and giving a name in response isn't possible. The only other way would be coming up with a dialogue window every time, but that would be horrible. Thanks, Pete
