Emisary Posted May 31, 2019 Report Posted May 31, 2019 Hello, I had FSUIPC v 5.1 running without a problem on P3Dv4.4. Yet after I had reinstalled it, today, with anew download, and added the WideFS licence (email is different from FSUIPC, due to older buying), I cannot touch any menu item, or P3D crashes to the desktop. I have deleted the Prepar3d.cfg and Shader folder, yet the issues gets back the second time I started the FS. Is there any repair? Thanks ahead, Rob Bindels

If it is only with WideFS enabled then it sounds llike you have a network driver problem, because nothing else is happening except initialisation of sockets listening for connections from other PCs. Though what relation that could possibly have to the functioning of the indpendently operating menus of P3D is hard to imagine. Anyway, you do need to provide data, as nothing can be advised without information. Use the Event Viewer in Windows to get full details of the crash -- or crashes, because there may be more than one in the Prepar3D process withing a short space of time (please see the other thread near here ("P3D4.5 Crash"). Please also supply details such as Windows Version (recently updated?), and any P3D add-ons and add-ins being used. Pete
Emisary Posted May 31, 2019 Author Report Posted May 31, 2019 Pete, Thanks for helping me out. Here are different items you request. Pete Dowson Posted May 31, 2019 Report Posted May 31, 2019 38 minutes ago, Emisary said: D:\Prepar3D v4\facilities.dll As you can see, the initial crash is in P3D's DLL called "Facilities.DLL". I think the fact that it only occuured after you enabled WideFS is misleading. WideFs doesn't use anything at all in P3d, and FSUIPC only interfaces through the official SimConnect and PDK interfaces. The succeeding crashea end with Application: Prepar3D.exe Framework version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. Exception information: System.AccessViolationException with <Module> .UIInterface.UnmanagedMapViewer. {Dtor} (UIInterface.UnmanagedMapViewer *) with UIInterface.MapViewer.! MapViewer () with UIInterface.MapViewer.Disex (Boolean3.D4.exe) .16.27077 is no longer responding to Windows and has been closed. Interesting that it looks like .NET Framework is involved. Neither FSUIPC nor WideFS uses that. Version 4.0.30319 sounds odd though. 4.7.2 is the current version. I don't even have a 4.0 installed, so perhaps that needs updating. It appears to crash in a "Mapviewer" function. Either way, I am sure you have a problem in your system -- either a corruption in P3D or some problem in Windows. I use P3D on a Win10 Pro system with 8 WideFS clients happily connecting and running applications for P3D. I have prevented Win10 updating itself since 1803, but I do know of other users who have a fully updated Win10 (to 1903, recently released) without any WideFS problems. Pete
Emisary Posted May 31, 2019 Author Report Posted May 31, 2019 I did just check the windows version C:\Users\RobB>ver Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17134.765] Which appears to be 1803 according to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_version_history Windows says it has been fully updated when I check update. Now that I press "Check for updates" I see that it is downloading the may 2019 version. I will update it, and check if I find the newer 4.7 Framework and update that too. And will check the simulator this afternoon. Thanks so far for your excellent support. RobB
Emisary Posted May 31, 2019 Author Report Posted May 31, 2019 I have updated Windows yet it stays around 1803. Just a few minor updates. From what I can see it is the first installion of Win 10, with the appropiate updates. I did build this computer december 2018 and used only for Prepar3d and Citiesskylines. Installing Framework says that 4.7.2 is allready installed, yet I do not find it in under regedit. C:\Users\RobB>ver Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17134.799] First time start, works great. Second start, same issue. The issue arrises when I go to options, on that little screen, that you after start, where you select plane,, airport and weather. Or when the game has loaded and I click on a item menu. And I start Prepar3d as admin. 1026Toepassing: Prepar3D.exeFramework-versie: v4.0.30319Beschrijving: het proces is beëindigd als gevolg van een onverwerkte uitzondering.Uitzonderingsinformatie: System.AccessViolationExceptionbij <Module>.UIInterface.UnmanagedMapViewer.{dtor}(UIInterface.UnmanagedMapViewer*)bij UIInterface.MapViewer.!MapViewer()bij UIInterface.MapViewer.Dispose(Boolean) 1000Naam van toepassing met fout: Prepar3D.exe, versie: 4.4.16.27077, tijdstempel: 0x5bfdbb35Naam van module met fout: facilities.dll, versie: 4.4.16.27077, tijdstempel: 0x5bfdba9fUitzonderingscode: 0xc0000005Foutmarge: 0x000000000001d822Id van proces met fout: 0x1968Starttijd van toepassing met fout: 0x01d517c14d013ef5Pad naar toepassing met fout: D:\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exePad naar module met fout: D:\Prepar3D v4\facilities.dllRapport-id: a7826be4-0e8e-4675-b247-07dbc73d5050Volledige pakketnaam met fout:Relatieve toepassings-id van pakket met fout: 1001 error logFoutbucket 1931353675875240300, type 4 Naam van gebeurtenis: APPCRASH Antwoord: Niet beschikbaar Id van CAB-bestand: 0 Handtekening van probleem: P1: Prepar3D.exe P2: 4.4.16.27077 P3: 5bfdbb35 P4: facilities.dll P5: 4.4.16.27077 P6: 5bfdba9f P7: c0000005 P8: 000000000001d822 P9: P10: Toegevoegde bestanden: \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER9655.tmp.dmp \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER983B.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER983C.tmp.xml \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER9849.tmp.csv \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER985A.tmp.txt Deze bestanden zijn mogelijk hier beschikbaar: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_Prepar3D.exe_8ad7752b97b53d12d7712cb675ef5aea6742a1c_5e4d7e2c_16a49e16 Analysesymbool: Opnieuw zoeken naar oplossing: 0 Rapport-id: a7826be4-0e8e-4675-b247-07dbc73d5050 Rapportstatus: 268435456 Opgedeelde bucket: b1f7622dd76488cceacd8bef7a30496c GUID van CAB-bestand: 0 Thanks ahead, RobB
Emisary Posted May 31, 2019 Author Report Posted May 31, 2019 I did check the instalklation, and saw this. After that I did enable it. But that does not work either. By the way, I only have Windows Defender running on this computer, and no external Antivirus or Antimalware. RobB
