GeForce Posted January 20, 2020 Report Posted January 20, 2020 I am having a unusual problem with FSX which appears to have popped when my Windows 10 was updated to 1903 . Whenever I go to an airport in North America Central or North America East after the aircraft loads the spinning blue icon appears then FSX exits . Happens to stock aircraft and add-on payware aircraft . Going to an airport anywhere North America West or Europe is fine . I have tried many things to determine the cause and what corrected the problem was removing FSUIPC4 . I deleted the software , reinstalled it .. same problem . Looking at the FSUIPC4 log the only thing I see is a "DLLStop Called " message . I've tried everything I can think of , deleting FSX.cfg , removing addon scenery with no success . Removing FSUIPC4 from the equation is the only thing that works . Can someone suggest something else to try ?

I think you have a corrupt weather file with a corruption causing the hang or crash somewhere in the part of the weather data referring to N America. Delete the wxstationlist.bin file from your AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX folder for the sim. Next time FSX is loaded it will make a new one. It would also be wise to delete the .WX type files from your FSX Documents folder (where the flights are saved). Corruption of these files can cause SimConnect to do unpredictable things when they are read. The reason this is sometimes only a problem when FSUIPC is active is that in requesting weather data FSUIPC causes SimConnect to read them. The DLLStop message simply means that SimConnect has started closing down the Sim and has called FSUIPC so it too can close tidily. Pete
GeForce Posted January 20, 2020 Author Report Posted January 20, 2020 Thanks for replying Pete . I 've played with deleting wxstationlist.bin while switching between weather engines but haven't touched them since the problem popped up . I'll try your recommendations and hopefully this will correct the problem. Cheers !
GeForce Posted January 20, 2020 Author Report Posted January 20, 2020 Thank you ! Corrupt wxstationlist.bin . I never would have thought that was the problem . Tried a few different addons .. worked like a charm . Thanks again !
