Phil Cohen Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 Good Evening Pete, I am trying to get the swift client up and running on a different network pc (Win 7) from my flight sim machine Win xp). I downloaded WideClient and purchased a key tonight. However when I follow the instructions and try to open up the InstallFSUIPC.exe installer my machine tells me that FSUIPC.exe is not a valid win32 application. So my question would be is there any other way to go about registering WideFS so that I can get the ball rolling on trying to fly online again. If i go into the sim and click on Modules then FSUIPC it tells me to register using the installer. Thank you Phil Cohen WWA1573 Westwind Airlines Sr Command Capt

There's no file made by us called FSUIPC.exe! There's Install_FSUIPC.exe, which you must surely have already run once in order to install FSUIPC. Just run it again to enter WideFS registration -- on the FS2004 PC (or FS2002, or FS2000, or FS98? You don't say which), not the Client PC. Make sure you have the latest version of FSUIPC3 -- 3.999z9b, as in the title of tyhe thread you posted in. See Download Links subforum above, Updated Modules thread. Pete
Phil Cohen Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 Pete, I was able to download the current FSUIPC update and then run the installer and register my WideFS. Now to see if my windows 7 laptop will connect with my windows xp machine and let me get online with FS9. Thank you for your help.

Make sure both PCs are in the same workgroup, otherwise you'll need to set IPAddr or ServerName and Protocol parameters in the WideClient's INI file (as stated in the documentation). Win10 and Win7 have different default workGroup names. Pete
Phil Cohen Posted March 12, 2020 Report Posted March 12, 2020 Pete, They are both connected and in the same workgroup. Now that the WideFS registration has gone through both computers are communicating and I am able to connect to the VATSIM network through the Swift GUI Application. I appreciate all of your help getting me through this task and now I can look forward to flying online again as I did in the past when my Sim Computer wasn't such a dinosaur!!
