Buff67 Posted December 9, 2020 Report Posted December 9, 2020 I am trying to clarify the information about correcting the "VCRuntime140_1.dll not found" error I get when trying to get FSUIPC to connect. From what I have read, the problem is related to a conflict with Windows Visual C++ 2015 and Visual C++ 2017. The instructions to fix the error, require changing these items in the Windows Files, and I am concerned that I have them right so I don't crash my computer. If I am correct, the instructions say to: 1. Delete Visual C++ 2017 (Does this mean delete both x64 & x86 versions?) 2. Install Visual C++ 2015 (Again, does this mean both x64 & x86 versions?) 3. Reinstall Visual C++ 2017 (Is this a stand alone 2017 version, or the 2015, 2017, 2019 combined version I find online?). Also, can I copy the existing 2017 version somehow and then reinstall it? Lastly, my computer currently has Visual C++ 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, & 2017 installed. Since there is no 2015 version installed, can I simply install the 2015 version x64 & x86, or do I have to follow the sequence above? (Delete 2017, install 2015, then reinstall 2017.) Thanks for your help
John Dowson Posted December 9, 2020 Report Posted December 9, 2020 Do not delete, but uninstall. 20 minutes ago, Buff67 said: (Delete 2017, install 2015, then reinstall 2017.) Yes, but uninstall 2017 not delete. When you uninstall or install, it applies to both versions. You probably also need the 2019 versions, which should be installed after the 2017. Its not that difficult - they just need to be installed in the correct order. As you have the 2017 installed and not the 2015, you have to uninstall the 2017 before installing the 2015, and then re-install the 2017 after you have installed the 2015. 21 minutes ago, Buff67 said: Also, can I copy the existing 2017 version somehow and then reinstall it? No - why would you want to do this?
Buff67 Posted December 9, 2020 Author Report Posted December 9, 2020 Sorry, I don't understand uninstall vs delete. How do I uninstall but not delete?
John Dowson Posted December 9, 2020 Report Posted December 9, 2020 3 minutes ago, Buff67 said: Sorry, I don't understand uninstall vs delete. How do I uninstall but not delete? You go into the windows settings, select Apps, and uninstall from there.:
Buff67 Posted December 9, 2020 Author Report Posted December 9, 2020 Well tried everything as described above. Uninstalled VSC 2017 (both versions x86 &x64) , Installed VSC 2015 (both x64 &x86), reinstalled VSC 2017 (both x64 & x86). Only problem is that when I went into the apps again, VSC 2015 was not there anymore. Seems like installing VS2017 again overwrote & deleted VS2015. Not sure what to do any more.

Buff67 Posted December 9, 2020 Author Report Posted December 9, 2020 Thank You. Are you saying I should be installing the 2015, 2017, 2019 Combo Package?

Did you try running FSUIPC7 after doing this? It shouldn't uninstall earlier versions.... 12 hours ago, Buff67 said: Are you saying I should be installing the 2015, 2017, 2019 Combo Package? It shouldn't make a difference installing individually oir installing the combo pack (if installing the correct versions). If its still not working, uninstall 2015, 2017 and 2019 and try again with the combo pack.
Buff67 Posted December 10, 2020 Author Report Posted December 10, 2020 I uninstalled the version 2017 version and installed the 2015, 2017 & 2019 pack. I also remembered to restart the computer this time. Everything works. Thanks so much to you and the other responders for your help.
