I read somewhere that because of a bug in MSFS 2020. It is always advisable, after aircraft is loaded, to run all Axes to there full extents before anything else. Is this still necessary for FSUIPC users?

I've not heard/read of this bug, and I have never found a need to do that, so I guess not.
