BrieHugger Posted August 27, 2021 Report Posted August 27, 2021 Hello all, I've just discovered that you can install mods to the MsFS, and I'm really excited to do it. However, upon searching for ways to install, reading forum posts on how to find the proper folder, and troubleshooting myself, I'm just stuck. About to give up. I downloaded the sim via steam, and it's on my D; drive. I resorted to just using the windows file search feature and seached my entire computer for "Microsoft.FlightDashboard". Not a single folder came up. Where is looks like it should be is here: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\community, but when I get to the Packages folder, there is no community folder in it. I tried adding a folder, naming it community, putting in some mods recently downloaded, and restarting the game but to no effect. Can anyone help? Thanks!
John Dowson Posted August 28, 2021 Report Posted August 28, 2021 To determine where your Community folder is in a steam installation, you need to look in your MSFS UserCfg.opt file, which for steam installs is under YOUR USER ACCOUNT\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\UsrCfg.opt Look for the last line, which is your InstalledPackagesPath - the Community folder sit under there. If you are using FSUIPC7, it is also logged in your FSUIPC7.log file, at the beginning as the FS (or FS UNC) path. John
