Pat Posted October 20, 2021 Report Posted October 20, 2021 (edited) Hello, I just purchased FSUIPC and installed for MSFS 2020, I started the exe and once in a flight I set the axis I wanted (Tiller) But this does not work unless the main FSUIPC window is open in front of MSFS window? I tried running the exe as admin too and have a blank controller profile inside MSFS for the device. I have tried restarting MSFS and FSUIPC a few times too. Had a look over documents and searched around but cant find anything related to this. Thanks for help. Thanks Pat Edited October 20, 2021 by Pat

What controller are you using? Your problem sounds like you are using an unsupported XINPUT device, such as the Xbox One or Xbox 360 game controller - from the README.txt (section Functionality to be Added (ToDo list)): Quote 6. Switch to using XINPUT (rather than DirectInput) for Xbox one and Xbox 360 game controllers (to enable them to be used when FSUIPC7 does not have the focus). If that is not your issue, can you please show me your FSUIPC7.ini and FSUIPC7.log files and I will take a look. John

John Many thanks for getting back to me, I think that will be the issue then, I was trying to do it on xbox controller. For now I will use the Thrustmaster TCA joystick axis that works well! Thanks Again

There is a possible solution to using XINPUT controllers with DirectInput games, called XInput Plus, but I haven't tried this, so not sure it will work. See the following for details: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=755970152 https://www.play-old-pc-games.com/compatibility-tools/xinput-plus-tutorial/ Unfortunately seems like the UI is in Japanese....If you try this, please report back if it works! John Just given that a try, Problem now is I am unable to point that program to the main MSFS.EXE it says I don't have permission to open this file so can not point to the exe. I have seen others having this issue.

You can also change/re-assign there rather than using FSUIPC. Would be interesting to know if you can get it working via FSUIPC though, so try pointing it to FSUIPC7.exe instead (and I think you need the dll in the same folder). If its the program that starts the program it points to (which I think it does), then you should disable auto-start (via a re-install) and start FSUIPC7.exe however required, either before or after MSFS is started. John Thanks so much I pointed it to FSUIPC.exe & that worked perfectly. Now can use the Xbox controller in full screen etc, Also the program seemed to be in English for any one else who may need to know! Edited October 20, 2021 by Pat

I will update the README.txt to add this as a solution. Cheers, John
