Scot Maciver Posted November 22, 2021 Report Posted November 22, 2021 Recently got back into FS with 2020 being released. I purchased a Honeycomb Yoke, and recently their throttle quadrant. I've been flying the CJ4 Working Title and couldn't get an AP button to mimic the FLC button mouse click so started researching. Found info on Lua scripts relating to this aircraft but recently found that this FLC issue happens on the stock also and had nothing to do with the Working Title. I also found that the scripts for the Honeycomb are not even needed anymore (I think). Reading through the forums it sounded like I needed FSUIPC so I purchased it last night. I had it many years ago when I used to be serious into FS but don't remember why I had it. Anyways, reading a great deal about the known FLC issues, offsets, onsets, jelly beans, etc... but did I even need FSUIPC? Would Mobiflight be the better choice for what I needed to do? With the FLC mouseclick, FLC pops up and I can dial in the speed I want with the throttle quadrant but can't hit the IAS AP button to engage this. I'm catching up on the forums with read/write stuff but figured I'd ask about the FSUIPC purchase. Let me be clear, I'm not crying about that, I just would like to know if anyone has a fix, and if I should get Mobiflight to handle. I also don't understand the offset stuff, but I'm catching up on how to use FSUIPC. I'm also looking for a quick answer because I'm getting lazier as I get older š. Thoughts? Keep reading? Stay off the computer? Let me know....Ā
Scot Maciver Posted November 22, 2021 Author Report Posted November 22, 2021 Well looks like this thing is starting to pay for itself.... maybe. Does this make sense? Got logging going with the DoNotLog parameter set to filter out unwanted stuff and to give me a chance to see what's going on. When I hit my AP button on the TQ, one log entry is AP_MASTER then flooding of YAW_DAMPER_TOGGLEĀ logs until I hit the AP button again and the logs stop with last entry AP_MASTER.Ā I'm no expert, although I did read the user guide, so now I'm even dumberĀ š, but the logs after I turn my Yaw Damper switch on seem to look normal. Anyone know if the first part of the logging is? I thought maybe it was the CJ4 Working Title Mod causing it but I switched to FS stock CJ4 and does the same thing. Any ideas appreciated. I got to continue on with the Advanced guide.

I always recommend that you try before you buy - you should initially have tried with the trial license, available at the top of this forum. You can also use the MobiFlight WASM events via FSUIPC using event files. They are included in your EventFiles sub-folder. Instructions on how to use can be found in other posts on this forum - I will create a README.txt (when I get time!) and include this information at some point. Otherwise, you can use the MobiFlight hubhop preset list (seeĀ https://hubhop.mobiflight.com/#/list) to see what the preset is doing, and then use that to determine what assignments to use in FSUIPC. For the FLC, the MobiFlight preset for this isĀ WT_CJ4_AP_FLC_PRESSED, which, looking at that preset's implementation,Ā Ā uses the hvar H:WT_CJ4_AP_FLC_PRESSED, so to use/assign to this you would first need to add that hvar to a hvar file for the CJ4 (to make it known to FSUIPC), and then add it to a macro and assign to that macro. See the Advanced User guide for details. There is also the presetĀ WT_CJ4_FLC_ON, using the lvarĀ L:WT_CJ4_FLC_ON which can be used to determine the state of the FLC (read-only). To engage the speed, the MF presetĀ WT_CJ4_AP_SPEED_PRESSED uses the (read/write) lvarĀ L:XMLVAR_AirSpeedIsInMach to switch between IAS/mach. To determine what is happening, you need to activate the AP button in the UI to see what is logged, and try to mimic that in your assignments. Unfortunately, this only helps if the aircraft is using standard MSFS events (i.e. those known to SimConnect/FSUIPC) and doesn't help if the functionality is operated using lvars and/or hvars (and maybe events). But that MF preset list is a great source of information on how to control such functionality. On 11/23/2021 at 12:53 AM, Scot Maciver said: How do I delete my post? I realize now I'm in a sub-forum. Not sure what you want to delete, but maybe because your posts were not approved yet as you are a new forum member. Should be ok now. John
