Hi
I'm trying to get the rotary knob/bugs assigned to the MCP knobs in the sim but can't seem to do this-
I have tried SPAD.next which doesn't seem to work either and just crashes the sim, and FSUIPC doesn't have a binding to increment knobs.

See the image below-the switch is a rotary bug that sits atop a three position switch

tcaboeingedition_5.jpg

I've got the 3 switch selector assigned in FSUIPC to bug selectors for the default Fighter jet as well as the rotary bug on top which increments or decrements(I've assigned it to key presses + and -).
The SEL switch in the picture can also be pressed but I can't use any with the PMDG 737 NGXu or the TFDI 717.

The SEL switch should increment or decrement the selection based on the position of the 3 way switch (IAS/HDG/ALT).
In the PMDG FMC key selection option each knobs increment or decrement action is tied to a specific hardware input-so the SEL button would be assigned and locked to a single rotary-either IAS /HDG and wouldn't be free to be used for the other rotary knobs

Any help would be great

Jay

What does this mean?

Are you saying your assignments work with other aircraft, but not for these add-ons?
For the PMDG 737NFXu, have you looked into the custom controls that PMDG provide? Many of the standard controls do not work for this aircraft.
The TFDI 717 may be the same.

This is usually achieved by overloading your SEL switch assignments and adding an offset condition on the position of the 3 way switch.

Ok, so that is easier then. You just need to assign the rotary to the correct control. If the standard controls don't work, try looking at the PMDG custom controls.

Thanks for your input and your great program!

I got some very helpful advice from Ben in the Prepar3d forums and these settings below are what I got to work for me by editing the FSUIPC6.ini file

Ok - so that is using overloaded assignments to custom controls with an offset condition on the position of the 3 wat switch, as I suggested....

Thanks for reporting back.

Do you mind linking or pointing me in the direction  of this. I am trying to figure this out myself at the moment.

If you would like clarification from the OP, try notifying him directly (using @jkeye).
