Thrustmaster Airbus Joustick and Quadrant with Add On

Hi all

I wonder if there is somewhere were I might be able to download a profile to add to the FSUIPC7 version to get the the complete Thrustmaster Pack working

It will just not work for me. I have tried and tried. The flaps aren't working nor is one of the throttles. The z Axis on the joystick isn't working and this is just for the PMDG 737 800. I haven't even tried on the Airbus Fenix yet.

So I would appreciate if there is someone out there that give me a pointer.

Thx in Advance

No - profiles are difficult to share. People can share there assignments, or help you with specific buttons or axes.

Aircraft, especially complex add-ons, are a lot more complex to control in MSFS. You should start by looking into the presets available for the aircraft you are configuring - and use profiles as the set-up will be different for each aircraft. See the MobiFlight HubHop website (https://hubhop.mobiflight.com/presets/) for a searchable list of available presets on vendor and aircraft. All (or most) presets should be available in FSUIPC7.

Not sure what you mean by "the z axis isn't working" - do you mean the axis isn't registered in FSUIPC7, or the assignment to that axis isn't working?

There are also many posts already for various issues with the PMDG 737s and the Fenix A320, so try searching this forum. Otherwise create a new post for any specific issues not already addressed.

I'm currently using FSUIPC7 7.3.16 and am working my way through the setup of the PMDG 800 and the TCA Airbus with the Flap and Spoiler add-ons.  Win10 Game Controller & MSFS see the throttle natively.   I don't have the Fenix, but do use the FBW A320 and did use their directions to calibrate the throttle from their website first.  No FSUIC7 needed for anything.  Then on to the PMDG series aircraft.

Throttles & Reverse - work from MSFS axis

Spoiler - Works OK MSFS

Flaps - Works OK (needs detail) from MSFS ( I use button on joystick mostly )

LG - Works MSFS

AutoBrake - Use FSUIPC Preset PMDG-7 ANTISKID"", Parameter=0

Eng Fuel Cutoff - Use FSUIPC Preset

Mode Ign/Start & Crank - Use FSUIPC Preset (I set mine for 1 & 2 Eng Start Ground)

Lt Black button - MSFS SpoilerArm

Rt Black Button - Use FSUIPC Preset PMDG 737-7 LIGHTS INTERIOR DOME WHITE DIM

Rudder Trim & Reset - Work MSFS

Parking Brake- Work MSFS

My issue to figure out is rotary button #25 as seen in MSFS/Win10 or #21 in FSUIPC.  Guess only #21 matters here.  In PMDG, there is a horizontal ( Off ) then on step down left is RTO.  On the TCA Throttle, The horizontal position is the switch change, and moving to the down left changes nothing.  So I think that is a dead/blank space on the rotary.  I'll get it eventually.  Just muscle memory is fighting this.

That is strange in itself - FSUIPC starts the numbering at 0 whereas windows ar 1, so usually #25 in windows would be #24 in FSUIPC.

That does sound strange...you could try activating logging for Buttons & Keys and see if anything is logged on that change - open the logging console (Log -> Open Console) and check in real-time. If there is no button press event registered, there may be a release event for the previous position that you can use....

Thanks John, I will try that. Report back next time I get on the sim tonight.  It works just fine for all the positions required in the Airbus logic.  The down left being disarmed.  But on PMDG that would be RTO.  Thanks for being quick on approving my 1st post.

Move rotary from horizontal to down left (PMDG RTO)

2056203 Button changed: bRef=0, Joy=2 (G), Btn=21, Released

Up to Horizontal (PMDG Off)

2142843 Button changed: bRef=0, Joy=2 (G), Btn=21, Pressed
2142843 [Buttons] 42=PG,21,CPPMDG_B737-7_ANTISKID_RTO_POS_SW,0
2142843 Executing preset 'PMDG_B737-7_ANTISKID_RTO_POS_SW' [8014]

So what I think there is here is down left is a release command to the sim, no matter what I do.  Am I right?   Console is an awesome tool!  Thanks for that tip John.

Yes, so you can assign the RTO preset (PMDG_B737-7_ANTISKID_RTO_POS_SW) to the release, and the off preset (PMDG_B737-7_ANTISKID_OFF_POS_SW) to the press.

It is just a window showing the log output in real time. But it is very useful to diagnose issues and what is occuring in real-time- if more people used this before requesting support they would most probably be able to solve the issue themselves!

Cheers,

John
