Pasadena Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago (edited) *** Moved from main support forum to FSUIPC7 / MSFS support sub-forum *** I’ve been playing MSFS 2020 on my Xbox and never really thought about switching to PC. At first, I played casually, but over time, I gained experience and became more serious about flight sim. When MSFS 2024 was released, the performance on Xbox was terrible, especially with world streaming. If you try to start a flight at Heathrow, JFK, or any other busy airport with everything live, it’s basically impossible—it’s literally unplayable. One day, I was watching an MSFS 2024 tutorial, and the person was playing on PC. I saw the performance at the airport, and OMG, I had never seen anything like that on Xbox. It looked like a real, live airport with full traffic, no missing textures, and no glitches. Since that moment, I seriously started thinking about building a PC just for flight sim. I almost went through with it, but one day, I decided to try MSFS 2020 again. (After the release of MSFS 2024, I deleted MSFS 2020 and never looked back 🤦🏻♂️). When I launched it, I was shocked—Xbox performance was flawless. I could fly from busy airports, and everything was stable. That made me rethink my decision. Maybe MSFS 2024’s performance on PC isn’t as great as I assumed. I also noticed that a lot of people are still playing MSFS 2020, and now I understand why. I’ve decided to stick with MSFS 2020 as well. What are your thoughts? Should I switch to PC if I wanna dive deeper into flight sim ? Edited 2 hours ago by John Dowson Moved to FSUIPC7 support forum
John Dowson Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Having never tried MSFS (or even used) an xbox, I cannot really advise. These forums are for FSUIPC support, which only works with the PC version, so I doubt you will find many xbox users here either. I would presume all flight simmers, as opposed to gamers, would be using PCs. John
