bartcop Posted April 1, 2025 Report Posted April 1, 2025 Hi I have recently had to do a clean install of Windows 11 and also MSFS2020. That's all gone fine. I had saved my config file for FSUIPC which contained all the settings for binding the buttons and switches for my Hotas Throttle and stick for the Fenix A320. However, when I have transferred my saved config file back into the fresh installation of FSUIPC 7.5.3 the bindings are not being seen by FSUIPC and all the button/switch assignments are blank. Hope you can help. Regards Barry
John Dowson Posted April 1, 2025 Report Posted April 1, 2025 The GUIDs of your devices have most probably changed. To resolve this, you need to update the [JoyNames] section in your FSUIPC7.ini file. New letter entried will have been added to that section. You need to copy the GUID strings from the new entries and use those/paste them in the original letter entries, then delete the new letter entries. Do this when FSUIPC is not running. If you attach your ini file, I could do this for you. But I am now on holiday and cant do this until next week (difficult on a phone!), so please try yourself. Any issues, attach your ini and I will take a look when possible. John
John Dowson Posted April 7, 2025 Report Posted April 7, 2025 Did you fix this? If not, please show me/attach your .ini, .log and .JoyScan.csv files and I will take a look. John
bartcop Posted April 15, 2025 Author Report Posted April 15, 2025 Hi John. I decided to start from scratch and and created new ini files. I'm quite familiar with FSUIPC after 20+years of flight siming so its wasn't too difficult. Just out of interest. The reason I did a reinstall was because MSFS 2020 and 2024 contantly crashed to desktop. The reinstall didn't help but I did find the cause of the problem. My CPU is a i7 14700KF and I came across an article stating that there was a problem with i7 CPU's and the BIOS microcode on my MSI motherboard and other boards which was sending incorrect voltages to the CPU. I updated the BIOS and It runs like a new machine now. No problems or CTD's at all now. Regards Barry
John Dowson Posted April 15, 2025 Report Posted April 15, 2025 Ok, thanks for the update. Its a pity that you did not find the cause before the re-install though! Regards, John
