Stu Antonio Posted Saturday at 01:05 PM Report Posted Saturday at 01:05 PM So I autos-start a couple of programs with FSUIPC, which works well. But some (like for instance ActiveSky or REX Atmos) won't start, I just get a windows chime at the moment they should auto-start. Any idea why that is? Could it be that they need some special permissions (the are not set as "run as admin" but they still have this little "admin icon" next to theirs). Here my auto-start section. Everything works, except for Atmos (the last one). [Programs] RunIf1=READY,KILL,"C:\BeyondATC\BeyondATC.exe" RunIf2=READY,KILL,"C:\Users\tschu\AppData\Local\Programs\pegasus\Pegasus.exe" RunIf3=READY,DELAY[=30],KILL,"C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Crew Animated FO Fenix A320 Project\FS2Crew Animated FO Fenix A320 Project.exe" RunIf4=READY,KILL,"C:\MSFS_ADDONS\WEATHER\RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS\RealTurb CAT Areas Global for MSFS.exe" RunIf5=READY,DELAY[=30],KILL,"C:\Program Files (x86)\REX Atmos Core\weathercreator.exe" Thanks

If it has the admin icon, then I think they must need admin privileges or they request them at start-up. Does your log show an error (with an error code) when it tries to start this? If so, the error code should indicate the reason.
John Dowson Posted Saturday at 02:46 PM Report Posted Saturday at 02:46 PM Maybe also check the Windows Event viewer to see if thee is anything there related to this.

What does this mean? 124766 FSUIPC couldn't run: ""C:\Program Files (x86)\REX Atmos Core\weathercreator.exe"" in folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\REX Atmos Core" [Error=740]

So it's a bit of a chicken-egg problem I guess.... PS: I of course also considered running the sim with elevated privileges, but that created a whole different set of issues and is advised against by many add on devs.
John Dowson Posted Saturday at 09:21 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:21 PM Yes, I should have mentioned that. Basically, if one program needs admin privileges, then for auto-start (either via FSUIPC or MSFS) then everything needs to be ran with elevated privileges. Previously this was possible, but windows OS is getting stricter and stricter on each release, for obvious reasons I think... I don't think there is anything I can do about this, but will look into it further when time permits. I think that for now you will just have to manually start anything that requires admin privileges. You could also ask/enquire on the support forums for any program that does this as to why this is necessary in the first place... If you find any solution, please update this thread! Regards, John 1
