FSUIPC not installing lvar module folder MSFS 2024

Hi I'm trying to install FSUIPC to use with my new MSFS2024 installation and it appeared to work , got the desktop icons for both 2020 and 2024 as expected. Both versions ran ok from the desktop icons. It wasn't till I was trying to run some addon software that requires FSUIPC to run that I noticed that it didn't appear to be running. I checked the EXE.XML file and it was there to run on MSFS2024 start but it doesn't appear to, I then checked my community folder and there was no fsuipc-lvar-module folder present but it was in the MSFS2020 folder after installation. I even downloaded the standalone WASM file and put it into the MSFS 2024 community folder but still no luck still have issues in 2024, 2020 still runs fine as before. I would appreciate any help with this as I`ve run out of ideas. I've included my installation log for you to look at, hope this helps. TIA

Your log file shows an issue installing the auto-start component for MSFS2020:

Quote

Updating EXE.XML for MSFS2020 MS Store install
Error loading EXE.xml file: C:\Users\Dale\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\EXE.xml
**** Auto-start of FSUIPC7 with MSFS2020 will not be enabled ****
**** To resolve, remove or rename this file and re-install:  C:\Users\Dale\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\EXE.xml****

This is because your current EXE.xml file either has the wrong encoding, or is an invalid xml file. Try changing the encoding (you can sue Notepad++ to do this) or check the format. For further details, see

As for the WASM not being installed, the community path looks incorrect:

Installing FSUIPC7 WASM module in MSFS2024 Community folder 'xtBoot "G:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3770753447-21100410-4029982673-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\'.
Create folder: xtBoot G\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3770753447-21100410-4029982673-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\\fsuipc-lvar-module
Output folder: xtBoot G\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3770753447-21100410-4029982673-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\\fsuipc-lvar-module

I do not know why that 'xtBoot' string is for...do you know what this is? Could you show me / attach your Usercfg.opt file for MSFS2024 - this: C:\Users\Dale\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt

Is your Community folder specified correctly there? It is the InstalledPackagesPath at the end of the file.

Did you just install the 'fsuipc-lvar-module' folder? That should work, but why don't you just copy the one from your MSFS2020 folder  to the MSFS2024 folder?

If the FSUIPC WASM folder is installed in your MSFS2024 Community folder, but isn't working, can you show me your FSUIPC7.log file and also your FSUIPC_WASM.log file (if present - see the WASM documentation in the Advanced User guide if you don't know where this is located). It could be the WASM is installed and working (you can check this in MSFS2024, using the Developer menu), but FSUIPC7 cannot detect it, again probably due to this strange 'xtBoot' string that seems to be coming from your InstalledPackagesPath.

Hi John thanks for the quick reply, yes I was wondering about the xt prefix so I had a closer look at my usercfg.opt and because I have moved my packages in MSFS 2024 some how there were two paths indicated the xt was the end of next in  "next path" . I corrected that and set the correct path for msfs 2024, fsuipc now installs the lvar module correctly. can I ask which encoding should be used in the xml file. I did try copying LVAR module from 2020 earlier but I still had problems but that might be the encoding as you say.

UTF-8 (NOT UTF-8 BOM) or Windows-1252.

What are LVAR modules? The encoding is only relevant for the EXE.xml files for the FSUIPC7 installer.

Hi again John , you were spot on with the problem lying with the Exe.xml file. I must have messed them up whilst trying to copy the contents from MSFS 2020 to MSFS 2024. After deleting it and letting the program recreate a new one, all worked fine, just had to run some other addons again to let them add their bit to the EXE.xml. Sorry about the confusion about the LVAR modules, I was referring to the fsuipc_lvar_module folder that fsuipc places in the community folder on installation. Anyway all seems to be working now, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
