WideFS connection not working between Win11 Server and Win10 Client despite correct setup and ping response

I’m currently trying to establish a WideFS connection between my server (Win11, FSUIPC7 with MSFS 2020) and a client (Win10) PC.
Unfortunately, I can’t get any connection — the WideClient window keeps showing “Waiting for a connection”.

Ping test: from Client to Server → successful (ping 192.168.1.99 works fine)

What I’ve already tried

  • Verified both are in the same Workgroup

  • Disabled firewalls and antivirus

  • Restarted both systems

  • Tried running both programs as Administrator

  • Checked local IP via ipconfig and confirmed static setup

Many thanks in advance for your help and support,
Roland

Can you please exit FSUIPC7 / WideClient before attaching log files. Your FSUIPC7.log file ends after 5 seconds and shows that WideServer was not even yet started. Also, please attach your WideServer.log file.

Also try with ServerName instead of ServerIPAddrand also set Protocol=TCP.

Do you see the WideFS menu in FSUIPC7?

I don't have a Wideserver.log and I don't see WideFs in FSUIPC.
Even though I reinstalled FSUIPC with Wideserver.

I also tried with the server name, but that doesn't seem to be the crucial point. It appears as if Widefs isn't even installed on the main PC?

It looks like WideServer is not being enabled in unlicensed versions of FSUIPC7. I will look into this.
For now, can you download the trial license (available in the first post in this sub-forum) and use a licensed version of FSUIPC.

I will look into why WideServer isn't being started with an unlicensed version and get back to you. You shouldn't need an FSUIPC7 license to use WideServer.

This is not correct - it is working correctly. The issue is that you do not have a license to use WideFS:

Quote

User Name=""
User Addr=""
FSUIPC7 not user registered
WIDEFS7 not user registered, or expired

You need to purchase and/or register your WideFS license. If you do not have one, you can try the trial license.

The problem is solved!
It seems that there was a problem with the WideFS registration, but not with FSUIPC. After testing the trial version, I tried the licensed version again and used the server name instead of the IP address, and it works! Thank you very much for your quick help! Top service.
Best regards, Roland
