I have a registrated fsuipc 7 and widefs and msfs2024 installed on my new computer, fsuipc is connecting to msfs2024 and also widefs but still there is no connection to my laptop that works perfect on my old computer with P3dv4.5 so i leave everything that was installed on laptoptop regarding fsuipc/widefs only changed the ip adress number to the same as my new computer.

What am i doing wrong.

I have no idea - please check the WideFS documentation on connection issue trouble shooting. If you still have issues after reading and trying the suggestions there, I would need to see your WideClient.ini and WideClient.log files, your WideServer.log and FSUIPC7.log files, and your FSUIPC7.ini file. you should attach these files.

Most WideClient connection issues are due to firewall issues or using different workgroups, so at least check the workgroup and disable all firewalls (client, servewr and router) to test. Also try specifying the server name and protocol in your WideClient.ini - see the documentation.

They will be in your FSUIPC7 installation folder, on your client PC. They must be there - check also that you have not set Explorer to hide the extensions of known file types.

Your ini file has a mistake:

Quote

rverIPAddr=192.168.0.39
Protocol=TCP

That should be ServerIPAddr.  Also usually better to use ServerName unless you have allocated static IP addresses.
As it says in the WideClient.log:

Quote

      359 Trying to locate server: IP protocol needs ServerName or IP address!

My ip adress on my pc is the same as on my laptop

This is not possible....or shouldn't be! Every device on a network needs its own unique IP address - if the IP addresses are not unique, how can anything connect?!!!

And as I said, there was an error in your ini - did you correct this? Did you try with ServerName instead of ServerIPAddr?

I find out that the ip adress in the wide client ini had the same as on my pc so i changed it it was 192.168.0.39 and now 192.168.0.38 also i followed the recomodation in the link you give me also i tried the server name instead of ip adress but still no connection

WideServer.log

I need to see all your files: WideClient.log, WideClient.ini, FSUIPC7.log, WideServer.log. I need to see all these files from the same session if you have connection issues.

Did you try when using  ServerName instead of ServerIPAddr as I keep asking? i.e.
     ServerName=YB-17936
     Protocol=TCP

?

Sorry, you said you tried this - but please show me the files.

Are you now sure your PC and laptop have unique IP addresses? What are they?

...and if the IPS are unique and you have specified them correctly, the ONLY reasons that it fails to connect would be either the Workgroup name or firewalls blocking the connection. Please double check that your laptop is in the same workgroup as the PC, and temporarily disable all firewalls (laptop, PC, router).

If IP addresses change, you would almost certainly need to update your firewall rules to allow the connection. This is why you should disable all firewalls and see if you can connect, then once you have a connection start each one at a time to see which one is blocking the connection.

I removed the widefs files from my laptop and dowloaded new ones installed en everything works fine.

Ok, but strange - I do not understand why that would fix your connection issue as it will be the exact same version as you were using....

I don"t no but i am using the server name insteat of the ip adress  with the firewall off and that works fine so i switch the firewall  on and still it works so for me thats ok.

Thanks for your help.

Martin.
