Not really winsaudi, just try and see what happens when you change things.. Could only cost you a little bit of time, that's all.. But if you want to stay on the safe side then only edit tower3d.rec if you want the new clearance commands since that is just a text file, even notepad will do ;).

Oh, and you ofcourse keep a copy of any and all file you open in a safe place first!!!!

I made some additions to the REC file which was very easy, but it changes to a TXT file.  I then have no speech.  Any way to keep an REC?

.P.S.  I would pay a lot of money if FeelThere would develop an ARTCC sim.  I think it would be relatively easy to do compared to the incredibly graphic-intensive program Tower 3D Pro has become.  What a gem that is it!  Always thankful!

Hey thanks for this, all.  I will have to check it out these crossing instructions

.  Regarding above, I too would love to see an ARTCC sim.  I recall a number of years ago they actually had it in the ATC suite system in the works.  The screen shots I saw were awesome.  Here's hoping.

  3. TJ,  I'm with you as an old timer.  Original Tracon and BAO tower to start.  Followed by most of the others.  I really liked ATCC (and still hoping Feel There develops their Center sIm).  Also enjoyed ATC Simulator and London Control.  I recently revisited I am an Air Traffic Controller (Japan and definitely different).  Tower 3dPro, however,  is a real keeper for sure even with some of the issues

Sorry Folks, it was just a naming issue. I'm uploading a new version (same files but correct txt and naming. The beer is on me next time for this :)
Oh by the way; feelThere is turning 15 years old this year. This weekend we will have a nice company meeting in Prague. I've been always thinking about it; would you be interested to meet somewhere and have a nice little feelThere meeting where we could meet in person, tell stories, ask questions, etc?

    Vic

yes, definitely.  But, I can't make Prague (would be nice).  Where did you have in mind in the States?

  5. After a go-around, I usually give a left turn command to 180 degrees or so (south at KSAN) and try to work them on a downwind for 27.  For some reason, commands from 180 to 90 don't seem to work well so I usually hand off to departure and I have seen them worked back into arrival.  Sometimes not well, though and conflicts with untimely arrivals can be bad.

The "enter final runway xx" works very well.

  6. Yeah, you might not get dinged in this sim,  but if you let a plane land with one still on the runway you would be looking for a new job real quick.  I've lost points trying to time the departures and landings and missing by just a few feet.  That's frustrating but also rewarding when you time it perfectly.

They will not exit quicker. They are already taking the first possible exit based on their flight dynamics so they can't exit sooner than their landing length.

And that is fine for me. But, I do not like it that they almost stop-or certainly slow down quite a bit- after landing when I have an a/c on final right behind them.  This makes exiting at the further taxiways, B8 and B9 much more dicey.

  8. Wow, 2000 would be a challenge.  I think they are at something like 600 movements daily at present. It is tough (or impossible) to get the separations as in RL. If I can get a departure in position on 27, I can get him off with an arrival about 3 miles--controllers seem to regularly take off and land with only 2 miles between them.  What would help this sim a lot would be keeping the arriving a/c on a quicker roll out pace.  They tend to slow down too much after touching down.

I have seen the strange pushbacks from cargo, too.  I do not run runway 9 too much but have seen pushback anomalies where a/c that get pushed out onto Bravo act like they are headed for 27 and then have to swing around for 9.  Not too big a deal but eats up some time.

Finally, have you seen the a/c do the pirouette off of 27?  Right after TO, many a/c do this at about 500 ft AGL.  Pretty funny and I will have to try and capture with a screen shot.
