  1. Thanks a million, Volker.

First, my apologies for unnecessarily posting a request for assistance when the problem was here with me all the time. Somehow I had two separate FS9 installations on the same disk and the computer (he is the culprit, therefore...) kept sending my modifications to one version, while I was flying and trying to utilize the changes on the other installation. This should go to the World Book of Records of DON'Ts!

I plan on upgrading to FSCommander 9 but I always like to have the CD available for eventual reinstallation as I upgrade my computers too. And this is an importation, though of minor value, into Brazil and I will need to look further into it.

Appreciate very much your prompt offer of assistance and, again, sincere apologies.

  2. My last update report before giving up:

With Airport Design Editor menu "Open File from BGL" I do open from C:\FS9\Addon Scenery\Scenery the file xxx_ADE9_CG (my initials).BGL and the display shows the corresponding runway and ILS. This leads me to assume that the compiled airport has been saved in the proper place and is available.

Yet when I run FSCommander with this same .BGL file the ILS will not show nor be listed as existing in Airport Information.

The ILS box in the left column of FSCommander is ticked. The DataBase Editor uses the same file folder for updating.

I have not been drinking, I have reinstalled both programs, have also double-checked everything that I am carefully attempting to do, and the problem is still there.

May it rest in peace, as may you peacefully expect that this dumb simmer will not bother you any further.

Best of all to all of you.

  3. I am running Flight Simulator 9 on Windows 7 on my Desk Top and have installed FSCommander 8 (everything exactly as I have done successfully for my Desk Computer which is away for a long period of repair).

Using Airport Design Editor I have added ILS to many runways, using exactly the same procedure which I used for the Desk Computer, also running on Windows 7, where these ILS are properly shown on FSC.

It so happens that in this new installation although all default airports are shown in FS9 and FSCommander (Database 8.2.1 Build 051107 2003-2007) the ILS which have been added are not shown on FSCommander.

The Database Manager for FSC has been repeatedly updated; the ILS box on the left menu is activated; these revised airports are placed in C:\FS9\Addon Scenery\Scenery; this Addon Scenery Area is activated in FS9; Airport Design Editor opens these revised airports showing their added ILS. But FSC will not.

My limited expertise on the subject leads me to believe there is a question of where these revised airport .bgl and .ad2 files are placed – and based on my experience with the other computer they are in their correct position. But it just will not work.

Have also reinstalled FSCommander and spent quite a few hours (to the limit of exhaustion) trying to solve this riddle.

Before giving up I thought I would look for whoever could assist this befuddled non-expert old timer in Flight Simulator and a fan of FSCommander.

  4. Thank you very much, Volker, for the prompt and very conclusive reply.

I had imagined this would be the case. The eventual transfer which occurred will keep me hoping this outside transfer will be available sometime; maybe José Oliveira or someone else will come up with another program which will do it.

In the meantime I will continue as a permanent user of FSC which greatly enhances the pleasure and capabilities of flying Microsoft Flight Simulator.

    Best wishes,

    Clarindo

  5. My OS is Windows 7 - FSCommander is version 9.2 Build 2 May 2012 - FSUIPC is a registered version 3.99.

I have installed and run José Oliveira's AI Bridge program which shows the message FS9 Detected and Connected information.

My lack of experience results in the fact that I do not visualize the aircraft which are flying with me on the same host server.

I have assumed that this would be beyond my low level of expertize and should give up on these attempts. However, in a single instance once I had a companion multiplayer aircraft flying along with me and properly displayed in FSCommander 9.

So it is possible. A few colleagues have been trying to get this working and although much more experienced than I they have not been able to get around to it.

None of us use IVAO or VATSIM which I understand is adequately displayed on FSC without the need of AI Bridge.

I am wondering whether someone could suggest additional ways and means which I could try further in my attempt to get Multiplayer aircraft displayed on FSCommander.

Any assistance will be highly appreciated as I use FSC extensively and this would be a most welcome addition to my pleasure in using Flight Simulator 9.

    Thanks a lot.

  6. I have upgraded to a new computer with OS Windows 7 and having previously acquired FSCommander 9 am trying to install it in this new system.

I do have the 24-character code which I received when the program was purchased but I cannot find my way to registering a new download of this program.

The acquisition was made on Saturday August 20, 2011 under the name Clarindo Gueiros.

Would very much appreciate some information on this subject, as FSCommander is a must in using FS9 Flight Simulator, as far as I am concerned.

If such information could be sent to my e-mail address it would be a very helpful assistance -

    Thanks,

  7. I have added ILS to a few hundred stock airports in FS9 and these are properly shown and usable with FSCommander 9.

The FSC9 database manager has been updated adequately and in FS9 the corresponding .bgl and .ade (airport design editor) files are saved also.

In order to save these modifications which took a considerable amount of time and effort and have a backup in the event of a disk failure or similar problems, which files in FSC9 should I save?

Or must I save the whole FSC9 folder to ensure that all these airport addons are included?

I am assuming that FSC9 keeps such files but maybe they are just filed within FS9 and running the database manager in FSC9 is what brings them up to date.

Apologize in the event this question reads as quite superficial but any guidance will be of great assistance to me.

  8. Hello Gerard:

I have been living with this speed disparity between my FS9 indication and FSC9's and am wondering

whether you were ever able to reconcile the two.

As I understand now FSC9 receives from FSUIP and utilizes Ground Speed whereas FS9 uses INDICATED

    AIR SPEED.

Not being very knowledgeable about this, is it possible and how to change either FSUIPC or FS9 so

that they would indicate GROUND SPEED and, as a result, coincide with FSC9 (hope I am making

    myself clear...)

Appreciate any input on this which will be very favourable for my own utilization.

    Regards,

    Clarindo - Rio de Janeiro

  9. I have added close to one hundred ILS to FS9 stock airports in FSCommander 9 and would like to know how to save these files in the event I need a future reinstallation of FSC9.

This would save an enormous amount of work in the event it is feasible to utilize such files in a future new installation.

Could someone provide me with instructions on this subject?

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Clarindo - Rio de Janeiro

  10. Still using FSNavigator I have switched to FSCommander 9 which is now a convenient substitute for me. The only thing I miss are the multiplayer aircraft.

Have been able to connect adequately but after some minutes the AI bridge will disconnect, and sometimes will not show the multiplayer aircraft or it will show and then they will disappear.

Have checked that zoom is 3nm to try to view them on the ground and everything else.

Is there a payware version available which a newbie can more adequately use? Have not been able to identify a new version for experimentation.

Apologize for the scant information which I am passing on, but any help would be very much appreciated.

If desired my e-mail address is clarindogueiros@terra.com.br

  11. Before I upgrade from version 8 I am wondering where I have missed the instructions or where I can find guidance on how to transfer with ease the very large number of flight plans which I have in FS9 to render them usable in FSC.

The prospect of having to load each one individually in FS9 and then exporting it will not be a practical one in this case.

Any help available on this "beginner's" problem?

    Thanks a lot,

    Clarindo

  12. Thank you very much for the information and assistance. My lack of expertise on the subject must be the major obstacle in solving my problem.

I have confirmed that both smalle.fon and sserife.fon are in the C:\WINDOWS\font folder.

Have also confirmed that the appearance of font size is normal and that the general dpi setting is = 96 dpi.

And, most puzzling to me, having found an older version of FSCommander (FSC 7.4) in C:\Program Files\FSC\FSC74.exe to my surprise it runs perfectly (except that I no longer find the needed registration data for it).

My last question, not to exceed the limits of your patience, is that I note in this older version folder quite a few sub-folders which are non-existent in the latest 8.6 version which I have repeatedly installed and reinstalled from the more recently purchased Aerosoft CD.

V8.6 only shows the sub-folder Database\FS09 with files xxx.fsc and xxxfsc.old with identical names plus the files FSCDBM_FS09.LOG, FSCDbManagerini.old and fscini.old and nothing else. Please note that I have reinstalled from the CD several times, deleting it both with Control Panel and manually for any remaining files.

The running version 7.4 has seven sub-folders (Dafif, Database, Doc, FSPlan, Map, Segments, User plus 14 other files.

Is there any chance that this original, recently acquired CD could have some problem? Or is the problem solely behind the keyboard?

  13. After installing FSC away from the C: hard disk and from an original CD with no scratches and properly registered I get the subject information when trying to select an airport to get the program started.

During installation everything is completed successfully; except for a note that does not interrupt the process but indicates that the files serife.fon and smalle.fon were not located.

Database Manager is also successfully installed updating all airport .bgl files, assigning ILS and filling country, state tables, etc.

Could someone assist in identifying where I am going wrong in the process, please? Or how would I go about getting these apparently missing files from the purchased CD and where should they be inserted (in the event this is the cause of the problem) ?

Any information will be highly appreciated.

  14. I have just sent a private e-mail to Sacha Felix about a registration problem regarding FSC8 and only afterwards it occurred to me to search through this forum and find the very proper alert about the fact that the authors are continually receiving such type of e-mails and that they have nothing to do with the sales or commercial aspect of it.

I deeply regret the fact that I failed to read this before sending my e-mail and would ask Sacha to disregard my e-mail and to accept the most sincere apologies from this senior citizen who should have known better.

I will proceed to acquire a newer version of FSC and solve my problem which should never - I belatedly learned - have been addressed to the author(s) of this outstanding program.

  15. Thank you for your courtesy and patience in further responding to my doubt. I really appreciate it.

Your comment on the availability of current, more up to date FSC flight plans leads this admittedly ignorant of Flight Simulation add-ons and available utilities to ask whether or where any existing FSC flight plans could be found.

I apologize for the possibly incoherent questions or doubts on the subject, but I am keenly interested in having FSC as my default program but face as the only alternative the rather cumbersome prospect of building myself each and every one of the plans to be used.

Again, my apologies for any inadequate or rather obvious question raised here in my attempt to adhere to a full usage of FSC on my part.

    Best regards.

  16. As a recent user of FSCommander and faced with the need to create flight plans one by one, I am wondering if there is a way to utilize the several dozen plans which I have in FSNavigator with the format .pln

Have tried to load such .pln file in FSNavigator and export it to FS2004 and then tried to import from FS2004 into FSCommander, but have failed in these attempts.

Is it my fault or is it just impossible to try to use FSNavigator plans with FSCommander? And the only alternative is to creat FSCommander plans one by one, individually?

Any assistance will be of much value and will certainly improve on my utilization of the excellent FSCommander.

    Thanks,

    Clarindo

  17. Your information is very much appreciated, as I was about to embark on the acquisition for the sole purpose of turning my many FSNav plans available for use in FSC.

Wishful thinking, but I still hope someone will come around with a solution - and not only the two of us will benefit from it; there must quite a few more simmers out there hoping/waiting for it.

    Have a good one,

    Clarindo

  18. Thank you very much for the information, Volker. Am more and more satisfied with FSC, but still wondering about all those flight plans in FSNav.

The link you indicated will serve for me to explore FSBUild, mentioned there as a program with such capability.

Again, my appreciation for the assistance.

    Clarindo

  19. Having just acquired FSC version 8.2.1 and still working through its many very detailed and very comprehensive pages I am wondering whether flight plans prepared with FSNavigator with the format .fsn can be utilized for FS Commander or whether they can somehow be saved or adapted to a format compatible with FS Commander.

The question is based on the fact that I have hundreds of .fsn plans which I would hope could be adapted for the excellent FS Commander.

Thanks for any information or orientation.

    Clarindo
