  1. Thanks for the information, Marcos.

Before I started replacing hardware I thought I would reinstall software.

First I reinstalled FSNav and the problem persisted. So I reinstalled FS9 (will have a tremendous job of finding and replacing every addition I´ve made since the first installation), and still the problem was there.

Then I recalled I had recently upgraded to the last version of FSNav and decided to go back to the older version I had and when no problems were being experienced.

As of this writing everything is normal, but - if it has to do with hardware it´s bound to happen again.

Or may be my download of the latest version was corrupted.

Maybe I will never know, but it sure is good to get rid of that nasty problem.

The old Air Bridge is still going strong - and Santos Dumont airport is being revamped to accomodate the continually growing number of passengers (should say commuters).

  2. I am a long-time user of FSNav and up until recently have never had any problems.

But just these few days I started having a somewhat similar problem indicated by you - when I start using FSNav with FS9 and as I make some adjustments in FSNav the FS9 program just disappears.

The restart is automatic (there is a check box for it when it asks if you want to send a report to Microsoft) and you can change that.

Before attributing the problem to any incompatibility (I have been using NVidia cards for years with FSNav) I am - in my case - trying to exclude the following possibilities:

Overheating - but it happens even when I start in the morning.

Video card - a hardware possibility?

    Memories - another hardware possibility?

Drivers - I have updated the video card driver recently - could that be the problem?

While I am faced with this huge problem (cant do without FSNav) I am planning to have a technician check all my hardware as I believe the problem lies there - or it might have to do with video-card driver.

Will be on the look out for any answer you may get to your posting as it would certainly help me also.

  3. Thank you very, very much Simon, for your prompt reply.

Let me confess (humbly) that I did not know or realize that there was an FSNavigation pop-up menu under FS9 Flights... I had been trying to start it alternatively from Windows XP All Programs, FS9 modules folder or menu options, etc.

It turns out that somehow the setting was Shift+F9 (which I use to move FSNav to my second monitor and keep it on while flying with the main monitor).

You saved my day and the whole weekend.

    Wishing you all the best.

  4. My apologies for duplicating this request which has been sent to support@fsnav.com

Maybe during the weekend someone will read this and provide this impatient and dependent FSNav user with a solution:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

As a long time user of FSNav I am currently facing the problem that the F9 key will not start FSNav.

The keyboard and the F9 key have been tested OK, I have the database created with no hitches, the FSNav.dll file is in the FS9\modules folder. Additionally, I have installed version 4.7 just downloaded from the site (prior version was 6.0) and yet the F9 key will not start FSNav.

Could you please assist indicating where my configuration is incorrect or what the possible cause for this problem could be? Flight Simulation without FSNav is absolutely unacceptable for this FSNav dependent!

Have searched through the forum but could not find any reference to such a problem like mine.

Thank you very much for your help on this subject.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for any assistance or indication on how to go about it.

Have not YET uninstalled FSNav and started a new one from scratch (just saving my registered file). Maybe this should be the first attempt but I have so many saved flights and SIDS/STARS that I am afraid I would lose them.

    Thanks again.

  5. Wonderful, Paul. I have it all set now, thanks to you.

I was assuming wrongly that it was a built in default, and now I have been able also to program the Undocked Feature with two keys, instead of using the mouse as I had been doing all along.

Such a simple thing, yet for the uniniciated (tranaslation = dumb) a really unsurmountable problem.

Have also learned in this forum that ´ask and ye shall be responded to´.

Thanks again and all the best.

  6. Most probably it is my fault or my configuration here which is resulting in this problem:

Up to my last revised update I always used the keys Shift+F9 to have the aircraft when on autopilot to fly the FsNav flight plan.

Currently this will no longer apply. I have to manually click on the Fly Plan box to make it work.

Could anyone advise where my mistake is or what I am missing at this end?

    Thanks a lot,

    Clarindo
