  1. I've been using EGKK all weekend and once getting the hang of it, it can be quite interesting. Shooting gaps can be difficult with slow taxi, though try to avoid using 'Line up and wait behind next landing aircraft' and try to keep an eye on the landing aircraft instead, as it passes over the threshold or just before, give the 'line up and wait' instruction, it can make things a little easier as the departing aircraft will be ready to go once the landing aircraft is off the runway. A321 and bigger will not be able to exit at Taxiway D, so that is something to be mindful of when using 08R. I have tried to play with fire to test the boundaries and I have found that A319's can fit in the small gaps for take off, but anything bigger than that can't seem to get off the ground in time (I found that out the hard way. There is the potential to get an aircraft off the ground with a landing aircraft just outside of inner ring on the DRBRITE. I am hoping that a fix will come for the slow roll out off runway as it can be a real pain, especially when aircraft have to use the second high speed exit when landing. Edit: i've also found that I have issues when trying to taxi up to the northeast stands... speech recognition doesn't seem to like Papa... so I have to taxi via Juliet Lime or Juliet Kilo and it will route it up Taxiway Papa.
  2. EGKK This airport operates as a single runway airport, utilising Runway 08R/26L as its operational runway and Runway 08L/26R as a taxiway. This can lead to departing aircraft becoming backed up, with spaces between arrivals being too and far between. The runway is set to the south of all of the terminals, meaning that taxiways pushing back aircraft must be will timed and you must remain visual at all times for crossing traffic. All is not lost though, as there are ways to placate traffic during exceptionally busy periods. Active Runway: 08R Arriving Pier 4 to Taxiway P/Pier 5/Pier 6/East Stands on Taxiway L S arrivals Landing aircraft that require gates in these areas should exit at Taxiway D, they should then be given taxi instructions to the Terminal via R. For example: Aircraft taxiing to gates under Air Bridge "Taxi to Terminal via R L" Pier 2 on Taxiway K/ Pier 3/ Pier 4 from Taxiway P toward Pier 3 arrivals Landing aircraft that require gates in these areas should exit at Taxiway CR, they should then be given taxi instructions to the Terminal via C J plus the relevant taxiway that their gate is one. For example: Aircraft taxiing to gates at the top right terminal "Taxi to Terminal via C J L" Pier 2 on Taxiway J/Pier 1 arrivals Landing aircraft that require gates in these areas should exit at Taxiway CR, they should then be given taxi instructions to the Terminal via J or Z Routing aircraft for arrivals in this manner will allow for a flowing system and free up taxiways for departures. Departing Pier 4 to Taxiway P/Pier 5/ Pier 6/East Stands on Taxiway L S departures Departing aircraft should expect Runway 08R, then routed down Taxiway Q where they can be held short of Taxiway J for arriving aircraft crossing from Taxiway D on to Taxiway R. Aircraft such as A319/A320/B737 should be routed to Runway 08R at G via Q ZZ Aircraft such as B757/B747/A380 should be routed to Runway 08R via Q J Note: During especially busy times, it may benefit you to also send some small aircraft to join at Taxiway J to prevent long queues on the taxiways, providing the opportunity during a large enough space in between arrivals to request two aircraft to 'Line up and wait' in quick succession, with consecutive take off's. Pier 2 on Taxiway K/ Pier 3/ Pier 4 from Taxiway P toward Pier 3 arrivals Departing aircraft should expect Runway 08R, then routed down Taxiway N. Aircraft such as A319/A320/B737 should be routed to Runway 08R at G via N AN ZZ Aircraft such as B757/B747/A380 should be routed to Runway 08R via N J For aircraft requiring Runway 08R via J, they should be held short of Taxiway J for arriving aircraft taxiing to the terminal. For aircraft requiring Runway 08R at G via AN ZZ, should be held short of Taxiway C to allow for arriving aircraft to cross from Taxiway CR Quiet Periods During quiet periods, Aircraft from the East side can be routed via L Q or via K Q; with inbound aircraft exiting the runway at Taxiway D and being routed via R K or via R L, being held short of respective taxiways for other moving aircraft. I will cover 26L arrivals/departures at a later date.
