  1. It works now, Thanks. Still have the same problem I have had since I brought it in that it keeps locking up (the actual hardware) usually when moving the course selector but on some of the other number selectors as well. NIce hardware but these lockups really annoy me as it requires power down of the unit and restart of FSX to get it going.
  2. Thats what I thought. This is my first time with lua scripts and I can't seem to find how to assign it to a key at the moment. :???:
  3. Thanks for this but can't seem to get it to work. Have the MCP Pro by itself and the displays all just have dashes through them. None of the switches work. Thought it may be FSLabs addon for the MCP for the Queen getting in the way but I removed it and no luck. My MCP is working because putting it in FS Compat mode FSUIPC sees all the button presses. Any ideas?
  4. You will be unable to use the range after the detent at the bottom as there is no readings from there. After this there is just a switch. What I have done is to map each switch to the decrease function (cant remeber exact name at present) so as it is held there the reverse thrust comes on and builds up. I have mapped the release to set the throttle to zero for that engine. Not truly how reverse thrust is suppose to work but works well. Only way to get true reverse is the way you have done it but then extremely hard to get idle.
  5. Thanks, That certainly fixed things up for me and have full range of flaps selectable again. Much appreciated.

The extremely strange thing about this is that it was working 100% and the only changes have been to update to the latest version each time. I may try going back a few versions to see if this fixes it. ----LATER I went back and installed 4.318 and tested again the flaps and it went through the full range. Tried 4.322 and tried that but it would only get to flaps 25. No flaps 30. Went back to 4.318 and full range back. Tried 4.316 and again it gave the full range of flaps. I did notice that with 4.316 and 4.318 that the flaps 1 comes on between the position where the flaps 1 comes on in the later versions. Something must have changed between 4.318 and 4.322 that has caused this issue.
  7. I also note that if I do not use the calibration then it works fine as well giving all the selections but it is the wrong way to what I want the lever to do. If I send it to calibration then it misses the flaps 25 again.

  9. It looks like the reason for the lowest increment being less than the others was to get the rest spotted more centrally in their "zones", matching FS's values more consistently. It seems, however, that this 'correction' is lowering the top value enough to defeat PMDG's code. Please try http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/FSUIPC4327.zip and let me know. I've adjusted only the top-end, so if it is the top value i use 16383 instead of whatever the relevant number of increments provide. Regards Pete Tried it and I now get flaps 30 but it will not select flaps 25. Goes straight from flaps 20 to flaps 30 missing flaps 25 alotogeather.
  10. [quote name="Pete Dowson Monitor 0BDC as U16 for the flaps control' date=' 0BE0 and 0BE4 for left and right flaps indicators, also U16. If you set this to display in the FS window and in the Normal log you can see them in real time and also the Log will contain the SimConnect reads and writes. 0BDC goes to 16384 here when FSUIPC sends its top value. I've not idea why that doesn't work for PMDG. Maybe I need to stretch the values over a bit more. The fact that my first increment is less than the computed value disturbs me a bit. I wonder if that's a new thing. I'll trace it here, see why. Regards Pete[/quote] Have done that. When I pull the lever down I see a jump of 2731 for a split second on 0BDC and then it goes back to zero. As I continue to pull down I get the 2731 again. Results are: 0BDC 0BE0 0BE4 0 0 0 Shows flaps up 2731 0 0 Shows flaps 1 5461 12411 12411 Shows flaps 5 8192 13653 13653 Shows flaps 10 10924 14894 13894 Shows flaps 20 13653 15638 15638 Shows flaps 25 Thats all I get. I tried to attach the logfile as well but it said the extension log is not allowed. I tried txt as well and same result. Will try and PM it.
  11. And what are they? Are you calibrating the detentes in FSUIPC, or just letting the positions take care of themselves? 6 increments at 5460 gives a range of 32760, which is so near the maximum of 32767 that I can't see how it could fail to reach. I can try it here on the FSX default 747. [LATER] Okay. it works okay here with the default 747. The 7 values I get are -16383, -11052, -5592, -132, 5328, 10788 and 16254. Not sure why the first increment is 5331, but the rest are 5460 (well the last is 5466, but close enough). But nevertheless, they all work. Regards Pete I am letting the positions handle themselves and has worked in the past okay. I get exactly the same figures as you do -16383 which should be UP -11052 which should be Flaps 1 -5592 which should be Flaps 5 -132 which should be Flaps 10 5328 which should be Flaps 20 10788 which should be Flaps 25 16254 which should be Flaps 30 However the PMDG only gets to flaps 25. It has always got to flaps 30 up until about 4 weeks ago when I last few it. After the layoff it no longer gets there. I did try a default 747 from FSX and it sees all the detents okay and gets to flaps 30. Not sure what is happening as there has been no change at all to my PMDG setup. Is there an offset I can view to see what FSX is seeing for the flaps?
  12. I have not been flying for a while but have been updating each time a update come through. Currently on 4.325 installed. I now notice however that I cannot get the full range of flaps on my PMDG 744X. There was no trouble previously and it looks like everything should work. I have assigned the level to send the data to FSUIPC for calibration. Looking at the out from this it gives the plane and says it has 7 detents with Incr of 5460. Moving the lever through its full range it definately outputs 7 different values. However in FSX it is only showing up as 6 and only gives me up, 1, 5, 10, 20, and 25. If I want 30 then I have to use the VC flap lever. I have seen this once before but cant remember what the issue was. I do think it was something to do with a earlier version of FSUIPC though.
  13. Okay I get you know. DIView showed that there was 3 axis. X-X, Y-Y, Z-Rz Joyview showed 3 axis active and giving results. X, Y, and R
  14. I tried both programs and the CH pedals do not show up at all anywhere. It shows the Saitek pedals all working fine. I did have CH pedals plugged into a different USB port than I now have the Saitek pedals plugged into.
  15. With the CH Products one FSUIPC was seeing the axises as X, Y and Z. Z being the rudder axis originally from the CH pedals. Also I do not use the product drivers, just the Vista built in HMI drivers. However with the Saitek one it was seeing X, Y, and R. The X and Y because they were the same worked the same and after calibration performed well. While the R on the other hand showed up and allowed me to direct it to the rudder did not work because Z from the CH products was still assigned to the rudder as well and in the list before R so was not working. In the ini file it looked like this [Axes] 0=0X,256,D,7,0,0,0 1=0Y,256,D,8,0,0,0 2=0Z,256,D,3,0,0,0 3=0R,256,D,3,0,0,0 As you can see both Z and R are assigned to the same thing but Z was first. Ideally I suppose I should have removed the entire 0 assignments manually when I removed the other pedals but did not think of it.
  16. I was trying to install my new Saitek rudder pedals but was having some issues. I removed my old CH Products pedals and installed the new ones. Removed the allocated assignments in FSX and then tried to set them up in FSUIPC. Brakes went fine and I assigned the rudder axis as well which showed up as 0,R. Now the fund began. I went to calibration page and went to the rudder but when I moved the pedals nothing happened. The axis page showed proper movement though. After quite some time I was about to give up and ask for help when I suddenly thought to check the ini file. For controller 0 it had 4 entries and it clicked that it was looking at the wrong one. It had X, Y, Z and R. I removed the lot but realised I only needs to remove Z and tried again and this time everything worked as it should. Thought I would share this in case anyone else happens in the same boat.
  17. Mine passed 20 hours but it was still faulty just as I said. No indication (except for the crashes in FSX) until it failed completely. Since the new memory not one crash at all.
  18. That is not a sure test either. My memory passed the tests time after time with no errors being thrown up. It only made itself apparent when the one of the 1GB sticks failed completed (still have not worked out which one it is because they are now on my desk). I even did the tests while it was crashing just before it failed completely and no issue was found.
  19. Okay, I am using ASX as well and have no issue except the super fog every now and then. Otherwise weather is usually pretty much the same as what VatSim has it. Certainly have no temperature issues anywhere that I have flown.
  20. As you are using FSInn have you made sure that the weather is turned off in FSInn as well??? Because there is a huge bug in the weather system for FSInn that causes very high temperature readings the higher you go which makes it nearly impossible for the 744 to climb at all higher up. Disable weather in FSInn if you have not done so already.
  21. Well I am 99.9% sure I have found the reason for FSX crashing on my machine anyway. Turns out one of my 1GB DDR2 chips has failed. I had two as Corsair setup up as 2GB dual channel but could never get the PC to overclock at all. As soon as I did it would crash no matter what settings I used. I then added another 2GB and same thing. Tried running memory tests on the PC for hours on end and it passed every single test. Went away for 2 days and got back and it would not boot or even POST. Trial and error pulled out the last 2 first and still nogo. Pulled out the first 2 and put the second 2 back in and fired up. Put the originals back in with the second lot and nogo again. So now my PC will overclock as it should but down to 2GB until some new memory arrives and man do I notice the slow down in FSX close to the ground. That extra memory sure makes a difference.
  22. One thing I found using Vista and a Flight mapping program to load data into my GPS for real flights was that the serial port cannot be used unless you use the Run As Administrator to run the program. The program in question was Jeppesen FliteStar and my account was an administrator one but it still made no difference unless I used Run as Administrator. Only then was the program able to input/output through the serial port. Just a thought.
  23. It most certainly is a red herring. A whale in fact. What they are having trouble with is something completely different which shows up as the speed tape not working and when you hit the AP button with LNAV/VNAV set results in the plane flipping vertically 360 degrees in a matter of seconds continuously. If you have stress causes damage then results in an instant breakage. I saw this via an early beta but has not happened with the latest release. It has something to do with the Simconnect.
  24. Which OS? If it is Vista then it is extremely hard but not impossible. You basically have to take ownership of the file because it has been installed by a trusted installer which makes it really hard. Once you have taken ownership then you should be able to delete it but it still takes some hoop jumping to do it. I tried for 3 days solid to get rid of one of the files in sxs under Vista before I finally found the magic bullet. Took a lot of searches of the Internet as well.
  25. I to am getting a lot of CTD's but cant pin it down to anything. I use FSUIPC for my brakes because FSX does not handle them properly and after using them leaves values that cause the PMDG 744X autobrakes/spoilers not to work. My CTD occurs at various times. Once just after landing on a 4 hour flight and just about to turn off the runway, next time just about to apply full power for a takeoff, another time 10 minutes into a climb out of an airport. This list goes on. I am not going to say it is FSUIPC or not but it has just started happening recently. May try and find an earlier version to see if I can stop it. Cant take my brakes out of FSUIPC for the above reason.
