Thanks Volker but I have that already. There is an English readme files in the zip for 8.4.1 and another for 8.4.2 but only one exe file. What I am after is the exe file that came with 8.4.1 not the file that has been amended for those who cannot download the weather.
-
What happened to this patch?? It worked fine for me and having reinstalled FSC on new HD I can not find it. 8.4.2 is no good as it has the old address for the weather.
A link to it would be appreciated or email it to me at ukv1624 @ btopenworld.com (remove spaces)

And don't forget it is more fun for the controller also if there is a pilot flying outbound or inbound who has his act (charts) together.
And it is a heck of a lot more fun for a pilot if having to make an emergency landing he can get the TA quickly rather than having to go into a website to check a chart (unless of course one has the chart for every airport en route - I think not ) Real pilots (and good Sim pilots) don't hit the pause button.
If it could be put on the ToDo list at some time in the future that would be nice.

Hi Derek - 71 years young and getting into computers - great. I am just coming up to 64 and love FS as well.
Now - are you a member of a virtual airline? I ask because with some you can get very good instruction but would need a headset and microphone combined (not expensive) and you could then get verbal instructions via Teamspeak (that's free) or similar. The one I belong to is FlyUK although it matters not where in the world you live. We have excellent instructors who can give you all the help you may need. Click on the banner below and it will take you to the site where you can have a good look around. If you want to discuss this off forum just send me a private message - just click WFH (in blue above).

For those of you able to download the weather file, are you getting an accurate reading.
Mine checks out perfectly against Active Sky and http://en.allmetsat.com and always has. The firewall would seem to be right at the heart of the problem. Try eset.com - takes two minutes to set up and thereafter it does all the work trapping new programs and setting the firewall up for them. Absolutely brilliant. It is important that every bit of the previous firewall is deleted, going through the registry if necessary.
Payware (just under £100 for three year licence) but there is a trial version available.

4. The FSC site has a download for v8.4
I don't think you have scrolled far enough down the page - you need Patch for 8.4: fsc84patch.zip
The patch dates are dd.mm.yyyy format.

Peforming full reinstall of Server to relieve pressure. Registered version of FSUIPC for FSX on XP - latest version installed, registration details inserted, confirmed and rebooted.
Port 8002 for WideFS opened in Windows firewall on both server and client. They just do not connect. Both computers access internet through home hub without any problem but not 'chatting' to each other. Searched on 24093 Error on client pre-Connection Select() [Error=10060] Connection timed out and turned up one or two threads non e of which helped. Having been trying to sort this for 6 hours am now running out of ideas. Any help appreciated.

You were bang on the button Pete. The IP address for the PC was incorrect. It was shown as 192.168.1.84. Altering the ini file to ServerIPAddr=192.168.1.87 made it all work fine.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
-
Thanks for the reply.
How do I tell?Is that IP address it has been given (192.168.1.84) correct? -
All of a sudden I cannot get a WideFS connection between my PC and laptop. Everything else is fine. I can alter files etc on the other machine through the network so that would not seem to be the problem. The exceptions are set out correctly in the firewall and I am now stumped as to what the problem may be.
This is a copy of the log from the laptop

I am in no way a network expert or anywhere close to one and senior moments are becoming more frequent  so be gentle if the error is blatantly obvious.
Using FSX with all service packs (but not Acceleration) and Vista Home.
Thanks

However, it seems to me that even with a protracted illness or accident, SOMEBODY would have contacted SOMEONE and let them know WHAT is happening.
Helge produced a program for FS9 that worked and still does. The real world sometimes gets in the way of the fantasy world and frankly it is none of our business what his present situation is. He produced, we paid - contract satisfied. At least the program is still available for download by registered users which is more than can be said for all the PSS customers.
Have a nice weekend.

Good question - I was thinking of buying the complete set but was concerned about a clash.. Now I can. Screenshots look great.
-
That is brilliant news. Well done!!
-
Great. Hopefully they can come up with the goods earlier than originally forecast.
They most certainly do.Hi-Fi do produce good stuff! -
http://www.hifisim.com/xplanner.php is a long way off but is worth future consideration. Doesn't help the present position but at least something to look forward to.
-
I can't really ask them to export them because I only occasionally get to fly with them
Ian
I see no reason why they wouldn't export them as they do advertise the site as FSX ready - clearly it isn't if Flight Plans are in FSNav format.
-
Do you have FS Nav? If I remember correctly that will export a plan to FS and FSC will import it.

Looking at the avsim library there is this egcc_visual.zip

All I can suggest is that you ensure you only have one afcad. Download scanafd.zip from avsim to check this out.
