FS Nav is one damn good add on for FS. FS Commander is a poor rip off and won't replace FS Nav save that it works with FSX. I've had a paid copy of FS Nav for years. However the FS Nav license code has been cracked. So it is mach nix if Helge want to continue it or not. So all this discusion by others about future sales is meaning less. How do they get the funds for sales to the guy anyway? It is all smoke and mirrors.

I think NO ONE has communicated with Helge even the operators of this forum. The operators of this forum should post and make public any e-mails from Helge to prove they have communicated Helge.

The operators of this Forum are under no obligation to do any such thing, why are you so fixated by seeing someones email ?

As Miguel and Francois have pointed out, this forum has nothing to do with the Financial arrangements of SimMarket.

If Helge wishes to remove it from the market, who are we to question this ?

Helge could quite easily sell this elsewhere if he so wished, so there is no case for this smoke and mirrors conspiracy.

Let us see what transpires between Miguel and whats left of FSNavigator, which by all accounts is nothing as the email now bounces :(

  2. I think i may have replied to this a few seconds ago . . . but

    @feman

    Never seen that before

I don't suppose that you would have a backup of the old FSNavigator BIN folder that held the program.cfg file ?

I've blown up hard drives, motherboards and it just goes straight back in for me.

It will carry on giving you 20 free sessons, but thats a pain. Best to get to the root of the problem.

What OS are you using ?

    ---

    @qf599

I may be barking up the wrong tree here, but, you are entering the name, date and key exactly as you got them on your program activation email or whatever ?

Even if you do that will the program not activate ?

    ---

Let me know how you get on.

    Cheers now

    Rob

  3. Sorry to see you are having these problems guys.

I'm at a loss to understand why one version would let you carry one for 20 sessions then ask for the licence key again. And yet another would not accept the licence key at all.

Could you do me a favour and advise me if you have the latest copy of FSNAV and what version of OS you have.

Do you guys have the original email or whatever that lists your licence key etc ?

If so, could you look up in your FSNavigator Bin folder and check the program.cfg file.

it should read something along the lines of

    LicenseName=Jon Doe

    LicenseDate=17/02/2002

    LicenseKey=80XXNJ9

Its most important that the Name and Date is correct as sent to you, not just your Key.

Let me know how you get on.

    Cheers now

  4. Wow, not seen this before.

I really do not see the connection between an exported flight plan and an aircraft not leaving the ground.

Could you do me a favour and check the Aircraft type in the FSNav flight plan. Do the performance figures look correct for the aircraft you've chosen ?

Might you have downloaded one of those FSNav panel with M1/2 buttons and FSNav is intercepting the commands to the control surfaces ? ( pure speculation here ! )

    Last resort - a re-install of FSNav.

    Rob

  5. Hi Chris,

FSNav has obviously got this information from reading your scenery files.

I would go through the FSNav DBC program and check which files might be causing the problem, uncheck them and recompile the database again.

You may have to do this a few times to find the offending file(s).

    Cheers now

    Rob

  6. Hmmm - Not THAT simple

1 - I'm not sure what you mean by NAV 1 button. Would this be the NAV button on the FS autopilot or the FSNav 1? You may find when using the FSNav autopilot mode and having NAV button (ie using local VOR as a heading reference) pressed, 'may' cause problems when the a/c turns to a reference point where there is no VOR (NAV1). I always use 'Heading' mode on the FS Autopilot. I may have got this totally wrong, excuse me if I have misunderstood you

2 - Is easier. 2 ways to change the heading

a - In the FSNav window Map mode, its possible to 'Right Click ' on a point on the map you want to fly to, and choose 'Fly To Here'. This can be done in any size of map window. Please note however that this will swicth off the 'Fly Flighplan mode'.

b - If, as sometimes happens on VATSIM they ask you to fly direct to a fix, and this fix is in your flight plan, you can go to the Plan Window, Right Click on the fix and choose 'Fly Flightplan from here'. The a/c will the go direct to that fix and will fly the flightplan from that point.

If you want to change the altitude - well thats a bit more tricky (I always fly with manual altitude settings on VATSIM/IVAO).

On the extreme left of the map screen just type in the new altitude you require next to the ALT button.

  7. Pardon me if I fail to understand your stance on this.

How does jumping up and down in this forum help your cause ?

then maybe the developers SHOULD, NECESSARILY read these forum topics.

    Where's the Beef?

Indeed, what exactly is the beef ?

Saying virtually the same thing in each post, is possibly a waste of your time. There is no-one in this forum who can help any further with this particular problem/issue.

Maybe another mail to support, or raise a ticket issue with simFlight if you think you have been hard done by.

  8. Hi Joe,

    Interesting !

When you first installed FSNav did it not find your copy of FS9 ? It must have, to be available when you press F9, so I'm slightly bemused.

What exactly do you see when press 'Plan' - 'Export' ? Do you not get a dialogue box with various formats ? (radar contact, fs2004, universal text etc etc ?). If you don't then its likely that one or two DLL files are missing, or the complete folder.

Unfortunately - atm I only have FSNav 4.7 installed, but you should have the following folder arrangement on you FS9 installation :-

    FS9

    - - Modules

    - - - FSNavigator

    - - - - FlpExport

In this FlpExport folder there should be a file called 'FlpExport.ini' is it there ? If you open it does it contain the correct path to your FS9 directory ?

I'll await your answers before going any further.

    Best of luck

    Rob

  9. Guys,

I have read your problems and suggested methods for a fix, and, I'm sorry to say, that I also do not have any ideas that you have not already tried.

As you will have gathered, the developers do not 'necessarily' read or take part in this forum.

In these circumstances I would take either or both of the following actions:-

    Send an email to:- support@fsnavigator.com

AND/OR if that doesn't work go here:-

  10. Hi there,

Well I'm not an expert on the PDMG, but :)

    Flight Planning.

The max and min flight levels are dictated by the airspace in which you fly, and your aircraft.

The are various rescources around that will help you out here.

    Try this one http://www.vatsim-uk.org/airac-routing/body.asp

Using that web page would give you the following routing (although the site is for flight simulator, the routing is 'Real-World')

EGCC MC FL75 DCT LIC A47 DTY EGLL <- Max Flight level is 75 here

    EGCC FL75 FL195 R101 STAFA B3 HON EGLL <- here its between 75 and 195

    There are others.

For Flying within the UK check out the Self Briefing pages of the National Air traffic Services here http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/login.jsp. You will need to create an account (free).

You can also look at the two large on-line flying organistaions providing ATC:-

IVAO (International Virtual Avitaion Organisation) http://www.ivao.org/hq/

    and

VATSIM (Virtual Air Traffic Simulation) http://www.vatsim.net/

Both of these network have large ammounts of information available for pilots. Hope this helps.

  11. Steve,

As a quick check, could you do the following for me. (Whilst the clever ones amongst us think about this :P )

If you uninstall your add-on scenery. (UK2000)

Delete the two FSNav files (as you have done many times before  ). Re-start FS, run the FSNav database utility etc etc, WITHOUT the UK2000 scenery, do you now have the MS default, Manchester, Birmingham and Blackpool airports on FSnav ?

    Cheers now

    Rob

    =edit=

    You aren't running 'Ad-Watch' (module of LavaSoft's Ad-Aware) are you ?

I am not familiar with Gary's scenery and if/how it modifies any registry settings ? Are you running XP ?

  12. Hi there Joe,

I think 'some' of your problems are coming from a faulty install of FS9 and/or FSNav.

FSNav does not use FSUIPC, it runs as a module inside MSFS using its own FSNAV.DLL, so playing with FSUIPC only gives indications of how MSFS interacts with software which relies on FSUIPC to exchange data with it. (ActiveSKy, FSmeteo, squawkbox etc etc). I suspect that its another module you have thats using FSUIPC that is causing the main problem.

Probably the only way forward is a re-install of FS9 :? , after having removed FS9 from your system first , leaving it with the default settings and scenery initially, installing FSNav, using a new set of downloaded files, let FSNav make its own CFG file, (dont directly import one). See how the frame rates go now, and the options and display settings. Then gradually load all your add-ons, hopefully it will all be as happy as it was before. 8)

BTW, copying FS modules/files over from one PC to another is sometimes frought with disaster, as they may have not been 'registered' with either FS9, nor the base utility itself.

  13. I can understand your frustrations guys, but there is some good advice to be had from Alastair and Nate above.

If you have purchased from SimFlight then you should be able to do as Lars (LPHammer) has suggested and retrieve your details.

If that is of no help I can only suggest the following:-

    Send an email to:- support@fsnavigator.com

AND if that doesn't work go here:-

    http://secure.simmarket.com/ticket_create.php

    Hope this helps.

    Rob W

  14. Hello Marcio,

Ok (its been a while since I had to do this !) but if I remember correctly, when you register you get a name, date and key, make sure that you enter the date that came with the registration, and NOT todays date

    Name: xxxxxxxx

    Date: 09/02/2001 <------- Use the original date !! Not today's date !

    Key : xxxxxxx

If that still does not work suggest you send an email to:- support@fsnavigator.com

AND if that doesn't work go here:-

    http://secure.simmarket.com/ticket_create.php

    Hope this helps.

  15. Hello Jorge,

I have not found a way of modifying any user editable files to show city names etc.

The limitation, is the size of the field involved.

Field size of 3 or less for NDB/VOR, 4 or less for ICAO Airport Names, and 5 or less for the ISEC names.

However, the information you ask, is contained within FSNAv. If you hover the mouse over, for example, the airport SADL, (actually on the central airport point), then FSNav will show the city name 'La Plata' and the country 'Argentina'. (But I think you already knew that  ).

I do not know of any method to actually display City names directly on the map.

Perhaps an idea for the next version of FSNav (if there is one).

    Regards

    Rob W

  16. Hi Jerry,

Ok, if I understand you correctly, then the answer is probably no, unfortunately. FSNav as I'm sure you know will display the Jet Route names in the map display, but, will not export/save these to any format.

However, when filing the Squawkbox flight plan, its just a case of entering the points where you Join and Depart the Jet Route in question (which is probably best edited manually because, as you have said, all the VOR/NDB/ISEC points are thrown in using FSNav export file).

I think one of the reasons that the developer did not go down this route, is due to many of the Routes having 2 or 3 different names.

FSBuild by Ernie Alston exports Airway routes in both FSNavigator format and Squawkbox format, if that is of any help.

Hey everyone! There's really nothing fancy nor tricky about making your own SIDs/DPs and STARs. A high school boy could do it so long as you're comfortable using your FSNav.

Hello, I think you missed the point.

I'm sure we are happy writing our own SID's/STAR's, but not for all the worlds airports !! :P

Various people do some (SID's/STAR's) for the airports they frequent most often, or one's they are familiar with, or when they change from time to time, and FSNav will upload them to the database. (As BradL has done with KLAX and KLAS). We can then download all the new and/or updated ones, without having to go checking. Its not perfect but its not bad.

I dont fancy writing/checking all 1,135 that are currently siting in my SID/STAR folder

  18. Hello Sebastian,

I hope the following post made by Peter McLeland (back in April this year on the FSNav News Group), in response to a similar request, will help with our problems of Random or none existant gates.

    It's two known problems Chris,

    1. With AFCAD stands randomised...stands will not show correctly in FSNav.

    2. Stands allocated to an airline will not show at all in FSNav.

FSNav has been fixed in these two problems but the update has not yet been issued.

If it is really important to you there is a complex way around it by making a COPY of your AFCAD file

...putting the stands in alphabetical order and removing any Airline allocations.

You then DISABLE the old AFCAD and ENABLE the copy.

    Start and Stop FS9.

Then run FSNav DBC and create the database...the stands will now show correctly on the FSNav map.

Now you can DISABLE the COPY and ENABLE the original, then Start and Stop FS9 to get back to random parking and airline allocation.

The main problem with this solution is that all DBC Data-base creation in the future must be done with the COPY active and not the original.

    Regards,

    Peter.

It is quite complicated, so if you need a further explanation, feel free to ask.

Also, if you are not bothered about flying from 'gate' to 'gate' - then Alastair's idea of flying 'runway' to 'runway' is a better option.

    Hope this helps.

    Bob.W.

  19. Bill,

The only thing I can suggest is that you install FSNAV again, with a fresh downloaded copy. I know its a pain, but sometimes the odd duff byte can creep in !!!.

I think the FSNAV.DLL file has the following attributes if you need to check:-

    fsnav.dll 1,552,384bytes (1,516kB) 14 Sep 2003 19:10.

I've not seen any problems on the FSUIPC forum, so, perhaps a re-install of FSUIPC from a new download ??. I'm afraid this help is all rather vague. :?
