  1. Hey Pete... Talk about timing.... Seems I've just 'stuffed' my FSUIPC/WideFS installs  After reinstalling Win7x64, FSX and all my addons, I've now got no comms between FSUIPC and WideFS between the two PCs FSX reports 'waiting for connection'. I'm gonna be cheeky here Pete and just ask rather than plough through the docs again... ( I just got finished reading 4 other manuals & my head hurts  ) Is there a common mistake when networking? It's been a long time since I installed them originally and can't remember setting it up. Here's what i THINK is relevant: ============== FSUIPC 4.6 [WideServer] WideFSenabled=Yes AdvertiseService=1 Port=8002 Port2=9002 ============================================ WideFS 6.78 [Config] ServerName=Main-PC Port=8002 Window=32000,32000,160,34 Visible=Yes ButtonScanInterval=20 ClassInstance=0 NetworkTiming=5,1 MailslotTiming=2000,1000 PollInterval=2000 Port2=9002 ResponseTime=18 ApplicationDelay=0 TCPcoalesce=No WaitForNewData=500 MaxSendQ=100 OnMaxSendQ=Log NewSendScanTime=50 Priority=3,1,2
  2. Hello Pete Just thought I'd drop in here briefly while 'MakeRwys' is running in the background... I run as many external FS applications as possible on a networked PC. Without your applications, I wouldn't be able to do that. Very many thanks Pete That's all!
  3. Thanks very much Pete. You know, your stuff makes FSX just soooooo much more fun. Thank you so much!
  4. Hello I understand Pete is away just now, but thought I'd ask anyway - someone might know... I use FSUIPC & WideFS (Registered) to run additional applications on my networked PC. I've now added another Laptop and want to know if there's a way of having WideFS running on both networked machines, and communicating with FSX on my main PC? I haven't yet re read the manuals. Just thought I'd ask first? Thanks for any help
  5. Sorry Pete, didn't make myself very clear.... when I say 'step' on them, I mean at base of the pedal, not the top. They're already reveresed (tick in the box). It's like I just can't get a 'dead zone'.
  6. Hi folks, Hi Pete I have now DISABLED the flight controls in FSX, and have callibrated both the CH Yoke & Pedals with FSUIPC. Splendid indeed - thanks Pete! However - I have just ONE callibration issue I can't seem to fix: The brakes. However many times I recallibrate, the only way I can COMPLETELY disable the brakes, is to 'STEP' on the bottom of the pedals with my toes! If I lift my feet to what should be 'brakes off', then at lowish throttle settings, the aircraft nose dips and it stops dead! Could my CH Pedals be goosed perhaps? This does not happen when using the FSX controls though. Can anyone help please? Ta
  7. Okay. Thanks for swift (as ever) reply anyway.
  8. Hello Pete Can you tell me if licences for your products are available from anywhere else, other than SimMarket please? Thanks
  9. Yesterday, for the first time since I started flight simming, I finally, and successfully, completed a long haul flight with a heavy duty addon aircraft (the wonderful PMDG747-400), FSCommander, Radar Contact and a few other applications, running across a network of PCs, whilst running FS on my main PC. At one point, i had three PCs linked, all using their own monitor, but utilising a KVM switch on two of them. It all got a ‘bit much’ eventually, so i settled for just two PCs! This may not seem much to some folk I know but, for a guy who, nearly 3 years back, was told he had no more than 6 months to live, believe me..... it is pure joy! At the worst time, I lost about 50-70% of my cognitive function (yeh, yeh, I know.... what was there to start with!?), lost almost half my body weight and had almost continual fits (brain tumour)! Just launching flghtsim was hard, never mind utilising complex addons. It probably would have made a great comedy sketch. Miracles really can happen!!!! Well.... huge advances in operating techniques in my case. Regaining enough health to use the flightsim in this way has transformed it for me – it’s now so much more immersive. Of late, I’ve been getting really bored with FS9 and FSX, but this opens a new door for me. For instance, completely independent output and volume control for ATC alone, is a vast improvement – especially when using Radar Contact for ATC. Having an enire PC just to run the moving map in FSC is fantastic, I get to see all the AI around me too. It’s like having radar!!! What’s more, as i’ve discovered, the networked PCs can be just about anything from an old Duron or P2 upwards, as most addons don’t need much processing power it seems. Sorry to ramble like this, but the reason for this posting is to publically thank all those folk who make this possible: John Dekker of Radar Contact, Sascha and Co for FSCommander, Pete Dowson for WideFS & FSUIPC of course. PMDG for such great aircraft. I could go on listing folk ‘til the cows come home so, to all those who’ve helped me.................. Thanks Guys
  10. Pete, you seem to be very 'tetchy' these days.
  11. Yes..... zero! Search i did - until my eyes were sore. If the answer is there, then please just give me link? I forgot to update my sigs - at the moment, i'm only running FS9 and my FSUIPC Version is 3.75. I now have only one major issue with the Level-D 767 and FSUIPC.... The 'HDG' select will not function at all under the conditions i specified. The FD does not command for the turn.
  12. Hi Pete, hope you're well. I have ALL my FS9 & FSX aircraft individually setup & callibrated in FSUIPC for using my CH Yoke & Pedals (for which i thank you). All that is, except for the Level-D 767. One or two essential items of this aircraft simply fail to work when setup like this, with the default FS controller disabled. Seems to me, that being the ONLY addon of dozens that i have, it would be a Level-D glitch. However, when i ask there for support, i get a rather unhelpful response, telling me he is unable to supply support for FSUIPC! Any ideas on this? Presumeably it's come up before, though a search here for 'Level-D' gets zero results. Thanks
  13. Sorry if my info was too vague.. I'm talking about FS9 & FSX, using the 'hat' switch on the CH Yoke. This i asigned by using John Cook's tutorial (v1.1) as shown on page 8. I didn't think i could use the 'pane_rate' in fs9.cfg as i've turned off the contol in FS9. However, i will check to see. Pete, if you don't use pan at all, how on earth do you look around?
  14. Hi Folks I'm sure i've done this before, but remember how now..... I have dissabled yoke in FS and setup FSUIPC to control all individual aircraft (special thanks to John Cook for the guide). What I now wan't is for the panning to be much faster. Where can i make these changes please? Thanks
  15. Got stuff on today. Not to worry though Pete. Whatever you're doing for Christmas, may it be a good one for you and yours. If i haven't got it sorted by then, i'll get back to you in the new year. Ta ta for now P

  17. Yes, sorry Pete, forgot to mention, I've tried many port numbers ranging from 8002 up to 8111, changing the numbers in both config files. Ain't it bizarre? I'm able to do any other networking via the two PCs.
  18. Ho, Hum..... Back to where i started. FS9 now connecting fine to WideFS, but FSX and WideFS just aren't friends in my house. Christmas spirit.....? Bah humbug i say
  19. Pete, just to save me searching through the docs again, am i right in assuming a flight must be loaded before any connections can be made? For checking purposes - i normally load and wait for a flight before being certain the connection has failed.
  20. This goes from bad to worse. In despair, i removed all FSUIPC and WideFS installations, thinking maybe a bad file or the like. All now reinstalled and reregistered, but now not working for either FS9 or FSX! This isn't me screaming for help Pete - I'll keep tinkering and will, i'm sure, get there in the end. Will keep you posted. P
  21. Don't know much about ports. How do i choose a number - lucky dip
  22. Pete, i must confess to not even knowing what Simconnect is. Would i know if i was running it? I am using WideFS to run 'FSCommander' on another PC.
  23. No luck Pete. I can't get my head around this - every network check i run is good. Still works fine with FS9 too. Any ideas?
