You can also get some good sunrise/sunset textures with the FSW cloud textures at fsw.simflight.com
-
His earlier textures are available at Flightsim.com. It's called PWwater 15 or something like that.
-
I have once visited there, it is very beautiful city and veryvery beautiful forests and lakes :D
Unfortunately a good number of the trees were flattened in a hurricane last fall!
BTW someone mentioned a Lancaster Bomber. There is one that flies over my house all the time, it is from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum ( http://www.warplane.com ). Here's a picture of it sitting on the apron where I normally park the 172's I do my flight training on.

I had an FX5200 it was a total piece of garbage. It didn't improve framerates for me at all and didn't handle textures well. After a month the fan broke and it overheated killing the card even (XFX was the manufacturer).
Personally I'd recommend selling both and getting an ATI Radeon 9600, you could get one for a decent price now and it's a very capable card, i had one before I went up to the 9800 and it kicked the crap out of the FX5200.

Wow that's sort of freaky. There is a show about the event on today or tomorrow on CBC that supposedly has previously classified information, could be interesting.

I must totally apologize to everyone that got disconnected by me then! I've learned that with FSHost servers, what you do on your system can affect others, even disconnect them while you stay on. Make sure your firewalls are open for the respective ports. Again I apologize to those I disconnected last night and this morning!
-
That's odd then.
Both times I'd see the other users get disconnected then I would myself. Perhaps it's related to connecting FSNav to the server.
-
Thanks for sharing the pics!
lol I always get a kick out of the guys in front of 172's and Katana's with uniforms, stripes on the shoulders and all... lol "I'm the Commander of this Katana Squadron..."
Sometimes professionalism is taken too far

Hello Francois,
For some reasons I've had it twice where your server dumped all the connections, something wrong?
-
How are the products. Personally the panels look far from payware quality to me, two products for $25 or not.
-
In my experience Sim Market has quite decent policies. I will buy it from them first if it's available in multiple spots.
Almost all FS companies will go above and beyond to help you out, all it usually takes is a friendly email. The only time I've been ripped off online was by Gamespy, unrelated to FS. Don't sign up you don't get anything for what you pay for btw, the add said I had 30 days to try and would have access to their exclusive servers, I sign up and all that happened was I didn't get ads, then I contact support, which took 3 days to do because of some "mysterious" glitches in their support pages and then they denied there was a 30 day trial. Oh well only a $22 lesson. In the end trust me, flightsim companies are more than reasonable.

Thanks Francois

Just wondering if anyone is using this server
VirtualPilot.net FSHost Server Status
(67.38.117.13-85)
I always log on when flying around Emma but have yet to see anyone there :(, is there another server I don't know about?
-
I use the VC for general aviation, so it would probably be nice. Besides it's a supercub, how hard can the VC be lol
With the Beaver it wasn't lack of ability, they just didn't think that it was necessary from the survey's they did, which unfortunately was wrong. I'm sure they know now. Anyone who has the A-10 will see Aerosoft can make a great VC (has over 40,000 polys!).
-
don't they offer backup for $2 or something?
That reminds me I should back up some stuff myself, Orcas I included.
-
You will be quite happy with it I'm sure. I first ran FS2004 on a P3-800mhz with a 64mb Radeon card lol. Then I bought a AMD 2600 and Radeon 9600 - 256mb. a month ago I upgraded to the 9800 128mb. The framerates are certainly better over the 9600, but the 9600 did handle textures better with the extra memory, but I'll take FPS over that any day.
The 5200 I had broke and fizzled out, total POS. That was the only non ATI card I've ever owned and I'll never buy anything but ATI again, plus ATI is Canadian :P .

I'm very happy with my Radeon 9800 Pro, I got it for $350 CDN a month ago. All the probs with the ATI's and FS9 were sorted ot long ago so I see no reason why not to use the Radeon. Also from what I've read, Nvidia's Anti Alias the clouds which is really hard on performance, whereas the Radeons don't (the clouds don't need it either, look fine).
For some extra $$$ an X800 would be incredible but the 9800 pro is probably more affordable.

David Voogd - EFC871
Student pilot in real life, hoping to start a career in aviation or ATC. I mostly fly for Vancouver Island Virtual Airlines - http://www.vanisleva.com but I picked up Emma Field recently and really enjoy spending time gliding around the field. I look forward to seeing you around the the multiplayer server.
-
Thanks Francois, no problem I saw a post about your travels on the Emma Field Flying Club forum.
After installation there was a "scenery.cfg before installing Orcas I." file in my main FS folder (named something like that), but the actual scenery.cfg wasn't edited. I was adding a lot of stuff in at the same time so it was probably just a conflict. Not a big deal, I just wanted to make sure that by manually adding hte FSAddon/Orcas I folder it would still work fine.
As for the new non FSE Sounds I greatly look forward to them! Now off to get the Beech Mentor and look for whales.

The traffic you are hearing is from other non controlled airports in the area on UNICOM, A common frequency for uncontrolled airports. If you use EditVoicePack you will hear the airfield names usually too.
You can use My Traffic and GA Traffic together, no problems at all. I'm using My Traffic 2004v2 and Ultimate Traffic together with no probs.

Looks like I spoke too quickly. Those downloads require Lago's FSE 2004 in order to be heard. While I have it, I didn't bother to think that someone else might not. Hope I haven't harshed your mellow...
I noticed that, not a problem though.
-
Thanks for the help. Will all the animations work properly or are there other folders that must be included?
-
After the installation process for Orcas Island finished and i started the sim, I noticed it did not add itself to the scenery library. I added the Orcas Island folder and it worked fine, however I haven't noticed any background sounds. Is this normal?
-
Apparently it helps performance if you have all the aircraft installed that other users are using.
Any LAGO Ultralights owners?

Just wondering if any other Emmanites own the Lago Ultralights package and are using it for FS2004. All of the canopy based models don't work for me, just spin like mad when I load them. I love the Quicksilver trike though!
