I was just having a little fun with my post. However, I do feel that Sascha and Volker's time is more valuable developing the next FSC upgrades than responding to some of these posts, some that border on the ridiculous. Have to give them both a "thumbs-up" for their patience.

Sascha & Volker:
Running FSC9 and FS9 on 3 monitors, soon to add a 4th,
with the latest AIRAC. Eveything works as advertised;
what am I doing wrong?
Downloaded and read the User's Manual a couple of time
and still cannot figured why everything is working!
Hope you guys spent more time in tweaking FSC9 that
answering questions that are amusing, for the lack of
other words.
Looking forward to FSC10/FSCX...

Running FSC9 and FS9 on a 3 monitor setup with Windows XP.
I just simply grab it and move it to the monitor of choice.
Once it is done it will always remember the display monitor
when you start FSC9. At least that's how it works for me!
Regards

You could be very well be right about the updates perhaps Sascha and Volker can answer this.
I also purchased the FSC9 boxed version from Aerosoft and installed the fixes/updates from the FS Commander Support Forum site. No problem with any of them.
The reason I expect "boxed" versions to be outdated is because of the lead time involved producing and packaging the software. How long the product sits on a shelf, who knows? Learned that when I ordered FSC 8.6 from Aerosoft, what I received was FSC 8.2. In that case I did have to download all updates up to 8.6 from Aerosoft.
As far as backing up, well, you already have the disk.
Regards, Jesse

"Boxed" version, obviously, are outdated. I fail to see why applying, any and all, updates would be detrimental.
If you have any doubts, back-up what you now have installed. BTW, back-ups should be done anytime before you update any software including FSC9 and the AIRAC files.

Andreas: See if this helps. Page 111 of the FSC Manual,Downloads, have the correct URL for the weather downloads.
Check and ensure that's what it shows in the FSC9 "Windows/Options/Downloads" in the "Weather" box.
Hope this helps...

Wombat457/Tony Cannon:
Here is something for you to try: After completing your flight plan and before saving it (Save As), open the FSC9 "Window/Select Parking & Taxiways" select your parking position. The documentation covers this - Paragraph 3.4, TOOLS. Hint: Also make sure the Flight Level is selected before saving the flight.
My experience with all the FSC versions is that like any new, complex software, an user, besides RTFM, also has to experiment with the software. In defense of the developers, Sasha & Volker, this Forum does answers a lot of the issues that we all experience while going through the learning curve and honestly I don't see why they bother responding to some of these posts. I would much rather they spend their time upgrading the software. As usual the option is there for anyone who is not satisfied with this product to get a refund from where they purchased it.
Just trying to help...(öJö)

OK, all you guys not any smarter than me.
Volker found my problem, and I am very appreciative!
"I was selecting FIND ROUTE after loading the FP into FSX."
DO THE PROCESS OUTLINED BELOW:
Select Flight Planner
Click on Load
select the plan you have created and saved with FSCommander (in my case KDFWKSTL).
Now DO NOT CLICK ON FIND ROUTE - CLICK on NAvlog or EDIT but NEVER on FIND ROUTE.
While you CLICK on FIND ROUTE FSX ignores your loaded plan and creates a new plan.
Therefor, as you can see, this is NOT a FSCommander problem. It is a user problem.
I am very happy to have FSC back again and running as it should...THANKS!
I wish to thank everyone who posted and tried to help.
I apologize for the trouble I've caused.
Jerry
Glad to hear your issue has been resolved. Not trying to be smarter than anyone but in my
yesterday post, the long one, that was what I was suggesting. Sometimes difficult problems have
simple solution. It is great to see we have a forum that everyone tries to help each other
out.

OK, I removed ALL FP's from the FSX folder.
I used FSC9 to build a new FP: KDFW BYP FSM HRO MAP KSTL (This time I used the WPT box)...instead of RT click.
I saved it: "SAVE AS"...to FSC and FSX.
I ran FSX and "LOADED" the FP (KDFWKSTL)...the only FP in the file.
When I opened the route in FSX it displayed this:
KDFW CVE BYP FSM HRO DGD TBN VIH FTZ STL CSX KSTL
Thanks,
Jerry
Jerry, me again!...out of curiosity...do you open/start FSC9, create a FP, and then start FSX, in that sequence?
If so, try the reverse. That may account as to why the FSC FP is not being written in FSX.
This is getting interesting, good luck!
Jesse
-
Jerry: For what is worth. I just followed the FP examples you posted and this
is my take on the isue:
Duplicated your FP in FSC9 - KDFW.BYP.FSM.HRO.MAP.KSTL (without the dots)and it
saved correctly in both, FSC9 and FS9. (I just typed your waypoints in the FSC9
flight plan drop down box.)
The second FP that you cited - KDFW.CVE.BYP.FSM.HRO.DGD.TBN.VIH.FTZ.STL.CSX.KSTL
(without the dots)- is what the FS9 Flight Planner, in your case - FSX, created.
I cannot remember how long ago I installed FS9; obviously that database is outdated
and some of those waypoints are no longer valid except in FSX and FS9.
Created FPs for KDFW > KSTL using the NAVAIDS, low, high altitude routes and, of course,
the waypoints are different. No problem saving any of them in FSC9 and FS9 or loading them
in FS9.
I am using the latest database, AIRAC1101, and also use FltPlan.com when developing a new
FP. Even between these two database there are differences and they are the latest
navigation data available; even to the syntax used for the SID and STARS - example:
SLT.FQM1 in FltPlan.com translates to FQM1.SLT in FSC9's AIRAC database.
With due respect, I think you are not loading the FSC9 FP correctly. How are you "opening"
the flight plan in FSX? In FS9, the FSC9 FP is loaded using the FS9 Flight Planner "load"
button - it took me awhile to learn that.
Just trying to help, hope you can resolve your issue if none of the above applies.

FSC90 Aerosoft boxed version w/23.11.2010 patch, AIRAC1101, FSUIPC3.989u, Windows XP (SP3)

Does anyone know how to enlarge the GPS window?
The new version 9.0 is harder to read than 8.6.
Regards
Perhaps changing the screen(s) resolution may help some.

Please disregard this posting. Looking forward for
Aerosoft to make the FSC9 "boxed" version available.

Is there a way to "zoom-in" on the STAR plate so it's more readable (less clutter)?
Hope the attached file is usable to see what I am referring to.
Txs in advance.

Again, thanks to both of you.
Any idea of what the ratio of FSC and FSim (FS9/FSX) network vs non-network users?
Never say that I did not present you with a new marketing idea for us the non-network simmers.
Best regards, Jesse
-
Sascha: Thanks for the explanation. Never gave a thought about this being a FSim issue vs FSC.
Perhaps, FSC should be coded to run as an integral part of FSim software like others add-ons.
Sort of was looking forward to something like that in the forthcoming release of FSC9.
Just a suggestion; respectful of the amount of effort and hard work you and Volker have dedicated
in the development and enhancement of your product.
Thanks, again - Jesse
-
Thanks, Volker.
I had read both "Important" paragraphs in the intro but still was not sure since the first one refers to a "single monitor"
and the second one to a "network". So the answer to one of my questions is that there is no way to prevent my issue from
happening unless you are running with networked computers. With todays' single PC power and capabilities don't know
why it has to be that way.
On the other question, any chance that this can be overcomed in future enhancements? Why would anyone invest on
networking PCs just to run add-on FSim software? If there is no issue when running in Windows Mode then it should not
be that difficult to code something for Full Mode; multi-tasking should be able to be accomplished in both modes but then
I am not a programmer.
Other than these, I am very impressed with your product.
Best regards, Jesse

FSC 8.6, FS2004 (FS9) running on XP SP3, multi-monitors (see specs below).
New to FSC and trying to resolve encountered issues (learning process) by searching the FSC forum.
Running 3 monitors in full screen and have the FS9 "Pause on task switch" unchecked yet each time
I do anything in the FSC screen (on a separate monitor) FS9 pauses. Found that FS9 has to run in
"Windows Mode" to correct this isue.
Have used FS9 since the day it was released and I have no use for window mode, always ran in full screen
so I could get the best of the multi monitors set up.
My questions are:
Is there a work-around to this or do I have to invest on a separate computer to run FSC in a local network?
Is there any chance for a future enhancement/update to FSC to correct this?
My system: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2.40GHZ, 8mb cache, 1066FSB

Volker:
Please be informed that I have been able to reinstall the boxed version 8.2.1 and
all the updates to V8.6 successfully from the Aerosoft site.
Thanks for your assistance.
Jesse
-
Thanks, Volker.
I am still working with these issues. Did try downloading V8.6 but during the instalation
it got hung up in "determining disk space requirements..." so I had to abort. When opening
FSC8 it shows V8.2.1 so not sure what version is now running but it now allows me access to
the software. Noticed that the registration option is "grayed-out" so am not user if it was
registered or if all I have installed is the evaluation copy. Later on will look more into this.
I do question why Aerosoft USA is not mailing updated versions of your program. Looking
forward to resolve these isssues and start enjoying your software.

I have figured a workaround to my issue but I will give Aerosoft USA a call at Dehman, Ma tomorrow
to resolve the rest of these issues.
On 08.24.10, I purchased the boxed copy of FSC. What I received on 09.01.10 was FSC Version 8.2.1,
Build 051107, which obviously is so outdated that it will not even install correctly. This V8.2.1 appears to have
a conflict recognizing or finding the "fonts" in my machine which is running an old operating system - XP SP3.
First install gave me runtime errors 380 because it could not locate fonts "SSerife and smalle.fon".
Second install it was able to locate the fonts but still gave 380 errors when trying to locate an ICAO in the
loaded FS2004 database. Neither install would even place the proper icon in the desktop.
As said in my previous posting the "evaluation version" installed and worked fine.
My workaround was to delele all FSC related file, clean the registry, clean the drives, defrag, and reinstall and
register the boxed copy (again) and download the current FSC Version 8.6. Now FSC appears to load but still
does not performs as it did in the evaluation copy.
After wasting all my day messing with this software my main concern is why is Aerosoft still mailing outdated version,
8.2.1, built in 051107, when they are now in Version 8.6?"
You can bet I will be calling Aerosoft USA firt thing tomorrow...

Newby to FSC and searched the forum about this error but it does not appears to be related to "fonts" error.
Yesterday, downloaded and installed the evaluation version and it ran fine.
Today, installed the recent purchased boxed version (8.2.1) which seemed to have installed correctly.
However, when opening FSC and entering the "Search by ICAO code" data, I receive the 380 error.
In both instances, I installed using the FS2004 database.
The evaluation version worked fine so I need help with the real thing.

FSC9.1.1 Update
in (Former) FS Commander Support Forum
Posted
Mr Felix & Heine:
After installing V9.1.1, the NATRACK and PACOT URL's did not update as
shown in the "ReadMe" file.
Q: Do these files have to be manually updated?
Updated from V9.1 to V9.1.1 - Build 21-10-2011, last update FS9 database 10/25/2011,
AIRAC 1110 Rev 1.
Sys: Windows XP SP2 and FS9.
