  1. Here is a Lesson Learned I thought I would share. I had programmed a button to activate my GPS. After changing aircraft, the assignments had to change. So then, I made the assignment "aircraft specific" (A/S) When I was in flight I selected my GPS activation button and got the radio in addition. Took me a while to figure out, that with the initial assignment (not A/S) not being removed first, I was receiving the initial assignment AND the A/S assignment. I little planning can avoid this annoying but harmless oops. Joe
  2. I don't mean to be rude, but yes it is. There is a section in the manual describing Joystick headings and assignments. You'll need to open the FS9.CFG file and determine which joystick heading is linked with your TQ-6. It took me a while but it is possible. After determining the correct heading, you then need to manually set the assignments. After that is complete, FSUIPC will recognize the TQ-6 "in the correct place" The TQ-6 functions just like a game controller. Make sure you have de-selected ALL assignments in FS2004 before trying to get it to function correctly. Be sure to follow this order... After opening the assignments page... Click on the AXIS SETTINGS Tab Click the NORMAL FLIGHT radio button Click the DEVICE (TQ-6) After deleting the fowling assignments Click OK. FS2004 has the tendency to add assignments. If you don't click OK after each set of changes, you may have problems. Meaning, after changes to my yoke, I click OK and go through the process again for my Stick. Hope this helps... Pete?
  3. WAIT!!! I'm back... Next question... I know I can assign buttons to specific aircraft. Can I do the same with axis'? Here's what I want to be able to do... I stated before I have a yoke and a H.O.T.A.S. So, for example, with a Cessna, I'd like to control it with the yoke, with an F-14, the H.O.T.A.S. If I can't? Do you think that would be benificial for everyone to implement? I do. I hear quite a few people wishing there was a multi-config in FS just like your aircraft specific buttons. Even with GoFlight equipment. But take care of your eyes...
  4. Nevermind, I found my problem. [JOYSTICK_MAIN {5CDACB90-DD73-11D8-8003-444553540000}] [JOYSTICK_MAIN {5CDACB90-DD73-11D8-8002-444553540000}] [JOYSTICK_MAIN {4B5E0310-DDAE-11D8-8001-444553540000}] [JOYSTICK_MAIN {5CDF8680-DD73-11D8-8019-444553540000}] I didn't look close enough to the headings.
  5. Hello Pete, I've gone through the manual and read up on joystick settings. I'm running Win2K and FS2004. First thing, I can't find any explanation of AXIS_FLAGS. You have it listed in the JOYSTICK_00 and 01 areas. Is it important for us to know it's purpose or just ignore it? I understand what your stating about finding the joystick headings. (ie: [JOYSTICK_MAIN {5CDACB90-DD73-11D8-8003-444553540000}] ) I have four controllers assigned but only three headings. I have determined which three controllers they're associated with. Here's my problem. There isn't one for the CH pedals. All my controllers are USB attached. A CH Flight Sim Yoke LE, CH Pedals, Saitek HOTAS and GoFligh's TQ-6. So now what?
  6. Just remember to give 'em a rest!
  7. Scanned the web with your answers. Very interesting where I could go with this. But currently a little over my head. I'll have to get with some of my electronics buddies and do some learning. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. Time for school. Joe
  8. I'm going through the initial designs of building a cockpit. I was dreaming about interfacing FSUIPC to something which could control actual cockpit lighting. Has anyone heard of such an attempt? Joe
  9. I didn't know what to call the "variables" at the time. I'm trying to get a list of the control numbers from eaglesoft for their Citation X. I've read through the "advanced" manual and if I understand correctly, if they had to use "control" numbers to get their dials and switches working, all I need is the list of numbers and what they're used for and I can manually enter the button assignments in the INI file. Correct? If my conclusions are correct, then you may disregard my request about updating FSUIPC.
  10. I should know better than to switch controllers without un-installing/re-installing the software. Thanks for the slap in the head.
  11. I received my rebuilt yoke (USB) today. So I unplugged my yoke with a gameport connection and plugged in the USB yoke. However, I didn't clear the FSUIPC assignments I have for the GP yoke. Now, when I start a flight, NOTHING works. I can't even access the menus. Is FSUIPC looking for the old yoke and halting FS execution? What do I need to do if this is the case? Thanks, Joe
  12. Hello Mr Dowson, I wish you well on your healing process and fully agree with waiting for a response. Take your time. My situation: Eaglesoft DG created the Cessna Citation X. They had to create custom variables to make many of the systems work. I asked them for a list of the variables they used. I was thinking, I could use that list to assign functions to my GoFlight modules, using FSUIPC. My question: Is it possible to add these variables to FSUIPC so I can control the currently uncontrollable functions? Assuming you can do this... do I need to supply you with the list of variables they used or will you contact them directly? I hope I expressed myself satisfactorily. Joe
