  1. I'm still using FS2004 so I'm referring to FSUIPC 3.997c When I was tinkering with GFDisplay, it would re-load the ini file when it detected a change in the ini file. Regarding the lua files... the FSUIPC Manual for Advanced Users states... When I change aircraft, it does re-load the lua like it states but the aircraft goes into a spinning dive if it's already in flight. Is it possible to include when the user aircraft is reloaded?
  2. Do you offer Lua programming help? If not can you recommend someone or something. I'm still browsing through the on-line User Manual. I've looked through the example gfdDisplay.lua and GFpower.lua files and I think I'm getting the basics so far. I understand the purpose of using event driven script, but as usual I gotta do things differently. I understand that any .lua files in the modules directory will show up in the drop down lists. Do I have to make a separate file for each control? Using GFDisplay, I have my GF-46 displaying the AC Heading and Speed. I'm thinking I need a lua file to run constantly but I haven't figured out how to do that, I guess I have more reading to do. Your suggestion to use events seems reasonable if I can figure out how to setup the functions, then it will "monitor" the mag heading offset and when it changes, call the function. Thanks for everything, Joe
  3. Mr. Dowson, Did I hear correctly... you're no longer supporting GFDisplay? Is there something else I can use? Joe
  4. I only went through the "User profiles for all control settings" section... I didn't read the "Axis Assignments" section because I knew how to make the assignments. I was going to suggest repeating this part in the "User profiles for all control settings" section, but I know you hate repeating yourself. People like me should just R.T.F.M! Thanks for your help Pete. Joe
  5. I still can't find where, but that no longer matters. The question has been answered. And it's not like it's so difficult to copy and paste a secion into each profile. Oops, how did I miss that? Thanks Pete
  6. Hi Mr. Dowson, It's me again... But first, I feel praise is in order... I want to say FSUIPC is a life saver, without it, i'd have to resort to not getting what I want. So the main reason... I'm having difficulty setting up profiles. Yes, I went into the ini and modified UseProfiles=Yes. My problem is between the general settings and the profiles. I have a profile for a standard PropEngine aircraft, of which I have my yoke assigned and calibrated and it's working fine. But I made the error of setting up my rudder under this profile. I wanted the rudder to be general since all aircraft use it. I went into the ini and moved the rudder settings out of the profile section and into the general [Axes] section. I then moved the entries pertaining to the rudder from the profile calibration section, into the general. So I'm expecting the rudder to work with all aircraft, regardless of profile. But it's not. I included a copy of my ini file at the end of this post. The title bar on the FSUIPC module shows the active profile is Piston and when on the Axis Assignments tab, the controls have no assignments, which I believe to be correct, because the rudder shouldn't be to a specific profile. Right? So, am I correct in thinking that the rudder should work with all profiles? Whereas the yoke and joystick would be profile specific? Thanks for your time, patience, understanding and most of all, your continued dedication towards this much needed software. 7. No, because I'm a dumb ass. I was going with how it was with FS9. The manuals were included with the zip and not installed into the modules directory so I didn't even think to look there. The other thing is when I went into that directory to make the shortcut to the FSUIPC.ini file, I didn't even notice them, or bother looking at any of the other files. Once again, sorry to waste your time. Joe
  8. Hello again, I've been labeling my button assignments in FSUIPC.ini so I know what to copy and paste for various profiles. I came across Control #66701. It's not listed in the FS2004 Controls List, so I figure it's new to FSX? It should be the Avionics Master switch. Is there a plan for a updated Controls List or is that something you'd like me to do for you. Regards, Joe
  9. On the advanced properties of my hubs, there's a "reset Hub" button. I don't think it did anything.I'll give your ideas a try and see what I can determine. Thanks
  10. I had a similar problem and tracked it down to the software for my Kensington Trackball. My software runs a KMW_Run.exe and KMW_Show.exe I'm not sure what they are supposed to do, but without them, I eliminated draw problems on the same tab you're having issues with. This also affected the display of FSX itself, whenever I moved the mouse, the screen would freeze. So my suggestion is to see if your mouse runs any background programs. That's all I got. Joe
  11. I'm running: FSX SP1 | FSUIPC 4.520 9JUN09 | GFConfig 1.90 | GFDisplay 1.24 I went into the Buttons & Switches tab on the FSUIPC module with in FSX to get the unit number assignments for my Goflight modules. Everything was working fine. I'd press a button and the unit number appeared in the PRESS box and the button number appeared in the BUTTON box. But when I pressed the button on my GF46, FSUIPC displayed the unit and button numbers ok, but as I continued to push buttons, it stopped displaying the numbers, and didn't even display previous buttons assignments. FSUIPC still registers the axis changes and the other tabs seem to still work. It just looks like the Buttons & Switches tab died. The tab's controls still re-draw when the window is moved. It just doesn't work anymore. It's seems to be only the GF46 button, the knobs worked fine with no side effect. I tried doing a Hub Reset, but that didn't have any effect. The only way I've found so far to correct it is a restart of the computer. Any clues? Joe
  12. Yes you are, Thanks... you fixed two problems of mine.
  13. Hopefully someone other than Mr. Dowson can answer this because I don't want to bother him with something so silly. I'm sure the answer is obvious, probably so obvious it eludes me. I'm running: FSX SP1 | FSUIPC 4.520 9JUN09 | GFConfig 1.90 | GFDisplay 1.24 I've been through the FSUIPC for Programmers in the 28th Release of SDK and the FSUIPC4 offsets Status files. I even took a re-look the the fs2004 controls file. I try to configure everything with FSUIPC. I'm trying to use GFConfig as little as possible, because I just don't like it, but will use it if I have to. So, with the prelude out of the way... I can't find an FS9 or FSX control for the Master Battery. I did find a "toggle" but that's not what I need. I tried using the Offset control but there is no selection to "set" an Unsigned 16bit word. I played around with some of the other offset word selection, but didn't get the correct results. There is an Avionics Master Set selection, why not a Battery Master and Alternator Master? Thanks in advance for smacking me around and getting me pointed in the right direction. Joe
  14. Yeah, I found those after posting. I currently have them setup that way and it's working fine. I'm running FSUIPC 3.9 26FEB09 Here's my log info: ********* FSUIPC, Version 3.90 by Pete Dowson ********* Running inside FS2004 (FS9.1 CONTROLS.DLL, FS9.1 WEATHER.DLL) User Name="intentionally removed" User Addr="intentionally removed" FSUIPC Key is provided WIDEFS not user registered, or expired [Continuation log requested by user] Module base=61000000 ClassOptions: UIPCMAIN=FF7F, FS98MAIN=FF7F, FS2KMAIN=FF5E WeatherOptions(Orig)=4000B6AF[4000B6AF] InitDelay: 0 seconds WeatherReadInterval=4 LogOptions=00000001 697937 System time = 14:22:01, FS2004 time = 14:16:55 (21:16Z) 730750 Monitor IPC:3122 (U8) = 64 735953 Monitor IPC:3122 (U8) = 128 751640 Monitor IPC:3122 (U8) = 64 759687 Monitor IPC:3122 (U8) = 128 776390 Monitor IPC:3122 (U8) = 64 Here's the sequence of buttons I pressed COM2 on the aircraft panel (AC) with the mouse COM1 on the GoFlight RP-48 Panel (GF) COM2 GF COM2 AC COM1 GF COM2 GF COM2 AC COM1 AC
  15. I did use the mouse on the panel. It seems we just have different terminology. When Com1 is selected, Com2 2 turns off automatically, and vise-versa. That's why I'm not toggling the bits. If it's not a FSUIPC problem, then thanks for your time. Hope you had a good visit, Joe
  16. Yeah, it should be listed under the "Programs" heading.
  17. Are you talking about my GoFlight setup?
  18. Sometimes FS will reassign default buttons and axis. If you find it doing so read THIS
  19. Oh my gosh, how rude of me... Thank you Pete, you're the greatest.
  20. You have very good timing. Must be this time zone stuff. I just got out of the shower. Version 1.23 works perfectly.
  21. I've done that, I guess I don't know what you need for feed back. When I used D30, there was no change unless I had a turn rate equal to 15º bank. D31, less bank required about 8º D32, Even less bank required, about 3º. D33, Even less if any. I thought this shows the amount of change required for the GF46 to display it. I'm just not explaining making myself very well. I thought this was significant. If there is enough change in the decimal numbers beyond what is displayed, the change would register. I'm not sure how to answer. D30 needed more Heading change than D31. D31 more than D32 and so on. Is that what you need to know?I think my problem is I'm analyzing what's going on and making reports based on my analysis instead of the results. I'll try to be more accurate in my reports, if you can be more accurate in your requirements. This is just what I needed. Keep in mind, I've never been a beta-testerGet some sleep. It's almost my bedtime and I have a 16 hour day at work ahead of me. I'll be back tomorrow night. Joe
  22. Something new... using Older GFDev and using GFD 1.10 & 1.222 the GF46 does not change until about 10 degrees of pitch where as before it was about 15.
  23. From a fresh boot, using Older GFDev and GFD 1.10 I get the same results. What else can we try?
  24. Hope you didn't read this previously, I was wrong. I thought it worked ok, but when I went back, it was acting up again. It was wierd. Let me try a reboot and see what happens.
  25. Some very interesting results. Reading from the Whiskey Compass offset... Started with GFD1.222 & GFDev 1.72 (the latest) I started with a three digit integer and three digit fractal. (xxx.xxx) Appears to be the same results as before. Since the compass, as you know, is very sensitive and always moving due to the movement/vibrations of the aircraft, I got constant GF46 changes until I put the engines at idle and set the brake. After a while, no more changes. Then I changed to a single digit heading and used D15 (x.xxxxx) Constant changes. Even when I put the engines at idle and set the brake. It didn't stop changing until I shut off the engines and waited about 15 seconds. Then, I used GFD1.222 & GFDev 1.33. Same results as above. Then I used GFD1.10 & GFDev 1.33. Same results as above. I don't know about your thought process, but this confirms my theory about the GF46 not changing unless there is a big enough change. I agree with you, what ever the problem is, like you said, it's been there a long time. Leave it to me thinking outside the box to discover this. So how do we determine which program is causing this? Here's my situation, I'm in the Navy and have been using up my excess leave. Next week I go back to work to do final paperwork and retire. It's a two hour commute each way, so I won't have the time to test further until about Saturday, 24MAR07. But I'll keep at this as long as you do.
