In the case you described, the cause is not the FlightSim Commander.
The FSC is not so intelligent that it can make changes to the system independently without the intervention of the user.

So if you haven't made any changes, it may be another program that made changes in the area of the system files.
A DLL or OCX file, installed by the FSC, has been overwritten with a different version.

I recommend restoring the last backup.

In the worst case, the FSC has to be uninstalled and then reinstalled.

The conditions for the function BlackBox reset / save to be active are as follows;
Flight plan created and active
Flight with takeoff and landing of at least 3 minutes
see also manual (eng) page 95, chapter Flight recording and analysis

It is not possible to control the function via the simulator.

The development and distribution of the FlightSim Commander
Version 9.x was discontinued at the end of 2017.
There is no possibility to make changes or an update.

The current version 10 of the FSC no longer includes a VatSim online function.

Important: You should bear in mind that FlightSim Commander is a stand-alone program
which will run at the same time as Flight Simulator when the two are connected.
Therefore you need Windows' multitasking capability for simultaneously running more
than one program. As a consequence, you cannot run Flight Simulator in full-screen
mode (Alt-Enter) on a single monitor if you want Flight Simulator and FlightSim
Commander to be connected to each other.

Fly in window mode instead of full screen mode.
Then the GPS window is visible.

This entry is incorrect.
There is no reference to the "Flight Simulator X-Files" folder or similar created by Microsoft.
The attached screenshot shows the entry for a German FSX.
