Hi Jon
I guess this this is the price for the open structure of FS?

You mean that some ground textures in V+ are custom made by FSAddon? Therefore it looks so different but in a more sophisticated way! Not directly "Georender" but IMHO it looks more"real". (Don't know how to prescribe it best).
Now I will think it over twice :D
BTW, did you work every single day?

Thank's for this detailed explanation. I'll think it over. It was only a question anyway. For now with V+ I will be very happy for a looong time I guess and I'm very surprised that the default MS textures look that good! But I think they look only so good because of the detailed landclass files from V+, right? Because in Europe per example, the first thing I have changed were the ground textures with FSScene, because expecially the Europe textures look very realistic from Ruud Faber.
So for now I'll go back and make some new FSE files for V+ 8) . There is much more to do, let's go :)
Franz
P.S.: I have one more question if I may: I remember back in the FS2002 times I have changed almost every single texture in the FS world and have never had any CTD for almost 3 years
Why is FS9 so prone for texture related CTD's? Or was it only luck?
-
Hi Francois!
You are certainly right! (just wishful thinking :? ). But serious now: can problems arise when only changing the ground textures?

Hi all!
There is an upcoming product from Flight 1 called "Ground Environment" by Peter Wilding. This will be a ground texture replacement program. I assume that it will be compatible with V+ (like FSScene)?

I sometimes think that this is the only sane place left on the Internet
That is only too true

Good, on to Simmarket now :D

Thank's Francois, but as you mentioned in an earlier thread, if I don't have any mesh for this area, even with 21 it looks not odd. Or provides V+ mesh data for this island too?

Hi!
I'm bound to purchase Orcas Island as a good addition to V+. However I've heard somehow that if one get an "older" product then per example FSCargo who uses the Vistamare.dll too it is possible that the "old" Vistamare.dll overwrite the newer version and can cause CTD's.
So here are my question:
Is Orcas using a Vistamare.dll?
If yes, will it overwrite my "newer" Vistamare.dll installed with FSCargo?
Can this cause any troubles?
Thank's in advance for your suggestions.

Hi folks,
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I like to thank you again for your wonderful products, especially FSCargo and Vancouver+ as well as for your outstanding support. This is not so usual these days.
Sincerely,

Fröhliche Weihnachten Holger!
Hope you have so much fun as I have with this wonderful scenery.
Greetings from a snowy Vienna!

No problem. V+ keeps me busy! (Yesterday I was flying cargo with the Beaver from Vancouver Harbour to Bremerton National. Arriving at Bremerton at sunset for a few moments I've thought I'm in a real plane in the real world, with all the beautiful colored waters and so... astonishing!!!)
Again I have to say that V+ is the best scenery ever seen. The downside: have to upgrade my RAM

Major enhancement? Sounds interesting...

Yes, just like the good old coffee shop...

You are the best!

Thank's a lot

Yes correct. It's a silent sound file which must be renamed and copied over to the environment sound folder of the Beaver
-
"Slightly" off topic:
Well the Beaver from Aerosoft is an outstanding plane and I love him everyday more, HOWEVER I have a little problem:
there are environment sounds provided along with the beaver who are played when the engine is turned off. (Birds, airport sounds etc.). But I'm using FSE for environment sounds, so Aerosoft offers in the manual "quiet" sounds on request.
I have posted my question several times in the Aerosoft forum as well as PM to Mathijs Kok, but never get any reply. (There is also in one thread a link to this sounds provided by Mathijs but the link is working never more)
So is there anybody who have this sounds?
Thank's
Franz

Nice! :D

...of course!!!! :D

Wow, as part of the German Airport series Frankfurt was already a great one but now it seems to be almost "real"... (thank's to Vistamare  )

Hi Flyguy767,
don't worry, I think this is nothing on your machine. I have the same "problem", especially in and around Vancouver city vincinity and occasionally in mountainous areas (but only with planes with higher speed - approx. 200 kts). I suppose this is due fact that mesh loading is sometimes hard for older PC's, right Jon?
However, when flying low and slow there's no problem at all :D

"Ground Environment" and V+

You are certainly right. I can't remember of such an addon in FS2002 times. Well, after these explanations I wonder if addons like V+ are compatible in any way to FS 10?
