o yea, francois! i think you're talking about his "Hump." what a GREAT one that is. i havent flown it in the default dak yet but i did in the fs2002 maam gooney bird. what a great challenge that is.
mr vone did some excellent challenges. excellent! and they are STILL quite flyable in fs9.
and still available at the usual suspect fs download sites.

hey skiiny, i like that avatar!
actually, as mentioned before by not a few of us, when you stop flight simming generally but you continue to produce fs products then something will go amiss.
but the gender is definitely not the case. that is just myne own puerile-based name-calling i used to vent my anger at that person, much as i would use some gender-based name to call out a buddy of mine. playground behaviour stuff. but the fact of the gender is a non-issue.
i really think it is also the problem that the new team is just getting to know one another, i guess, and the "team spirit" takes time to work out.
but i havent been over there since i went beserk and said i wasnt going back to the forum. and i will keep to that.
i am thinking one wont really see lago shine in its new garment until towards the end of march or so, if at all.

not sure that thing will work in the multiworld very well.
hey scout,
what do you mean "the multiworld"?
do you mean in mp?
also, are you still having problems with the textures for the porter? the default porter's textures & panel were quite intensive but i did a bit of tweaking and they GENERALLY ride real smooth.
let me know what the prob is.
as for the airfields: the porter was designed for this type of flying but i've flown them successfully in the baron and the twotter (either lago's payware or barry blaisdell's freeware) work well too. but my testing is generally done in the baron, you just have to know how to work the engines, etc., especially with realwx.
-
quite likely, simon. i suppose there will be the primal scream forum then. good point.
-
my guess is that if lago does not supply the promised fs9 emma field in May folk are going to have keep their eyes & ears clamped shut for a few weeks thereafter, the amount of venom that will erupt in this here forum, so much so that fritzois might have to open up an expletive-fete forum just for venting a cyber-based primal scream, for a month or so.
stuff SEEMS to be calmed down a bit, but i do i wonder what is going on over at my other old hangout.

for those emmaites who are virtual mountain pilots FSGenesis has just released the beginning of their FS2002/FS2004 76m mesh for the glorious himalayan mountain range. the initial file covers southern tibet area and IT IS A FREE 54MB DOWNLOAD http://portal.fsgenesis.net/
for quite some time i have been working on a club-sponsored flight through ALL of the himalayas, from the hindu kush area of the kybher pass through kashmir, india, nepal, bhutan and ending at lhasa in tibet.
the flights will be for fs2002 AND fs2004, using downloadable freeware of the area and using an aircraft (us cubflyers will have to use something with more gusto) that flies in the area to day.
stay tuned for maddog to announce the effc shangri-la tour-trek himalayan mountain pilots challenge upon my very slow completion.

well, i have a whole oxford english dictionary (no 'webster's' lovers i am an OED man) of a vocabulary including some of the filthiest words to come out of a mouth, pen & keyboard and would GENERALLY not promise to be on my best behaviour, but ONLY because i like & honor 'stang' as a good man (& he is a student pilot & fellow pennsylvanian) and because i dont want to give francois any headaches i will try to hold back, somewhat....
if i feel that the little kiddies need to step out of the room when i vent i will give a sign like (R for raunchy, or M for expletive Marjorie Main "tugboat annie" sailor-talk in the text) or something.

hey skinny,
you'll have fun finding just the right avatar that is your face when you post. lotsa folk look at the avatar before they actually read the poster's name.
dont be surprised if you pick an avatar, then after trying it out for a short time you just tell yourself "it aint me."
have fun with it.
by the way, if you are in winnipeg, you're actually EAST of the pecos. however, emma field clubhouse IS WEST of the pecos, though the server the forum is on is EAST of the pecos, unless you decide to go to the server via the pacific, then the server would be WEST of the pecos. and since the pecos runs from northwesterly to southeasterly all those places i just mentioned are NORTH of the pecos, but i think Joe Watson is SOUTH of the pecos.
but your question wasnt "dumb"/stupid anyways.

If we have nuns and marines among our readers, there is bound to be some different points of views.
ROFL
i had a marine drill-instructor who hated profane language, so he had a problem training a bunch of sailors, especially with the "ordinary sea-talk" that was part of the training regimen. he didnt last too long.
i knew a nun (actually a religious "sister," so not as "holy" as a "nun," who is generally cloistered) who knew her way around the expletive vocabularies of 3 languages when she was watching her beloved new york yankees baseball games.
she might not have lasted too long either.
maybe she left the sisterhood and married the marine...; holy smokes!
interesting.

what happens when the next version of FS comes out - surely we can't expect another upgrade?
i think that one of the scenery developers, seeing all the hubbub at lago regarding emma field is thinking of some scenery to use as a replacement.
francois, i think, mentioned that there was to be a european emma-type field in development. so my sense is that AFTER fs10 comes around there will be a whole setup for bush-type flying with a virtual aeroclub in tow.

i do not visit the lago forums at all, anymore!
i visited there almost as frequently as i visited here and posted there quite frequently. then the team change. and with that i became more terrorist-minded then i think this "game" should prompt one to be.
as simon felt, i started becoming quite nasty and wanted to smack the crap of not a few folk, and i dont mean in a figurative sense. gun was cleaned, rounds chambered, street addresses looked up, the whole mafioso enchilada.
not a healthy way to be.
i really dont give a frig what lago does. i have no interest in lago products, new emma, liposuctioned emma, i dont really care.
i visit emma field in fs9 quite frequently and it works for me as is.
i just think lago is run by a broad that has no interest in fsimming and is quite adept at jerkin folks' gerkins, yankin their franklin. and the guys that work for her must suckle the breast of her marketing ploys. their necessitating pablum is not my concern.
i think folk can tell, by my post now and simon's, that the name LAGO prompts anger; the word, itself, has become bitter-tasting from the bile of contempt.
so i dont visit, i dont buy, wont buy, dont friggin care about lago.
end of me comment on the situation.

a madonne!
(the only important south philly espression that REALLY matters!!)
i'm still waiting for pac-west travis to respond,
-
travis,
there is a 4-part repaint of the default piper cub released, available from http://www.virtualpilot.net JoeW previews for us cubbies at the cubflyers forum ( http://67.38.117.12/forum/viewforum.php2f14eb21f7 ).
are you a cubflyers member, travis? come join up if you arent!
-
i'm in agreement with travis on this, lucas.
i believe, when you and i discussed this during an mp session, i mentioned my ff2 got real goofy whenever i used the software package that came with the stick.
when i allow xp to load up the stick with its own drivers it started working more controllably.
sometimes it still gets goofy, but that is the price one pays for more gadgets to break.
every few times, BEFORE i fire-up fs, i do 2 things: defrag the harddrive AND recalibrate the joystick. takes a few minutes for hours of simming without moaning too too much.
uninstall your present ff2 drivers and allow ms xp to reinstall fresh drivers for you.
my tuppence.

got it simon. she's a beauty.
i cant keep my hangar from bulging with new stuff.
need some monastic discipline methods now.
thanks one more tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime.
-
gosh, simon, i thought you designed some CHARTS for the island or something.
this goose is beautiful, man. thank you so much!!
now, during our mp sessions, there are gonna be a whole bunch of efc canadian geese all over the place.
this is the kind of domino-excitement i love with this club.
my gratitude
-
simon,
that's a frank betts file for waldronair.
there is also a 90AW file that needs to be removed, also.
as this area of washington now becomes packed with new scenery we will all have to be very careful of what scenery and fse stuff we put in. i have found a things that have become problematic that i placed in fs months ago in the area.
if you installed bill lyons cub plane there is a scenery file (sailLesson.bgl) for the bay outside of orcas island that i'm almost certain will have to be deleted.
gotta be real selective FSE for all of NW Washington, to be honest, also.
-
ravenblack,
the first number comes from your screen resolution in flightsim.
if you are 1024x768 (in fs screen resolution, NOT deckstop res, i guess) then you would take the 1024 and multiply it by your vid card RAM (in your case 256). yours then would be 262144.
bottom line, just go into your fs9.cfg, go down to
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=
and multiply that number by 256
then your
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=262144
i hope i am not giving you bad info, here, but wanted you to have a response.
-
roger that bro!
wilco on the card aa/af/interlakken checking.
report back asap
and i'm hearing you & the other folk on the wait-for-baseball season for the vid card selecting. now, then, i will look at a new cpu upgrade.
all sits well with me, MISTER rathscallion.
jun,
thank you for that tweak!!
great framerate increase.
what is actually working harder when you use the "jun: tweak: the RAM, the cpu or the card or some combo? and if it is the card, is there a substantial increase in its temperature. (i should have done a temp check)
thank you.

ROFLMAO
such a funny thread!
come to think of it, the usaf airman must be george w.b.'s interpretation of the comic-book version of "superman;" gotta wear sunglasses nowadays to have x-ray vision.

willyB,
near where i grew up & near where "mustang" lives we have such sweet place-names like "blue ball," "intercourse," "lititz," "gap," "birdboro," middlesex," "paradise," & "reamstown" - all nestled in the once fully bucolic farm majesty of pennsylvania dutch country.
i think that area is now becoming touristy.
-
that's what i'm asking scout?
i dont want to purchase a 256 card then have to buy an airconditioner to cool the sucker down.
ya cant ask the sales folk in the stores anymore because they are generally snot-nosed kids who are trained but not the ole-time geek wonderguy who really knows what the diff between a gig and a byte is.
i have a bush-pilot buddy who is going through the same problem with upgrading the avionics on his c180: the better the avionics, the more power required, the more requirements of the whole box, et sequentia.
thank you for ideas.

just checked the so-called online urban dictionary for sucia.
check out the definition.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sucia
gosh!!!
and i found this sweet little bit about our newest effc destination:
Emma Delayed again!
in Emma Field Flying Club

you're so right, on a number of fronts, 'stang.
we are an older, some of us coots, bunch & when we get our cootiest we scare folk away from, instead of, to us. so it is quite good to keep that in mind.
the other point is, yes, i moved out of pa but i was born there and did a ton of my schooling there, at least up to my undergrad degree. moved out of there months ago now, to florida. but i still call myself a pennsylvanian, because 1/3 of my life was spent there.
i have navy buddies that havent been to their birth-home in decades, except for brief visits, yet when they say 'back home' they generally mean their birth-home.
thank you for the reminders.
youth teaches age. great stuff!
