After calibrating most axis, which seem to operate just fine, the "Axis not Processed" note is still displayed. This does not appear normal ?

Sorry, can you be a little more explicit, please. Are you talking about FSUIPC? If so, which version, and which page of the joystick options?

If FSUIPC is not processing an axis then it is not calibrating it either. But there are several options which divert the processing to other sections. without knowing what you are talking about I'm afraid I cannot explain it to you.

Sorry. With a full reigistered version of 3.125 on FS2004 am attempting to calibrate flight controls and single throttle with the CH Yoke & Rudder pedals. I have read the FSUIPC instructions and complied by using SET thence RESET after entering the values. After completion and a full restart, in FSUIPC under the Joystick tab each page (1-7) still states "Axis not Processed". As previously stated, flight controls feel quite a bit smoother, However I feel I must have missed something. Also, within the instructions I noted the sample also shows "Axis not Processed".

Im sure my pea-brain is missing something. Many thanks in advance.

I have read the FSUIPC instructions and complied by using SET thence RESET after entering the values.

:? You press "Set" to calibrate them and thence presss Ok to exit. You only press Reset to tell FSUIPC not to touch them -- it is the opposite of "Set". That's why the button changes back to "Set" when you press Reset, and why it then tells you that the axis isn't processed.

When it says "axis not processed" it means that the axis isn't processed by FSUIPC. Press "Set" if you want FSUIPC to calibrate. It then shows you the calibrated values and when you OK out the calibration will be in effect.

It only processes the axes when they have been SET, and it is then when the "axis not processed" message disappears to be replaced by the active calibration values.

After completion and a full restart, in FSUIPC

You don't need to restart. The effect is immediate upon OKaying out of the FSUIPC options.

As previously stated, flight controls feel quite a bit smoother

That must be the power of suggestion :) , as if FSUIPC says the axis isn't processed, it isn't processed by FSUIPC. You have to press SET for that, not RESET. They are exact opposites. One SETs the calibration, the other RESETs to FS's own methods. They were the shortest words to fit the button which mean the right things, and opposites.

Also, within the instructions I noted the sample also shows "Axis not Processed".

There aren't samples as much as pictures shown with default settings. By default FSUIPC doesn't process the axes. You have to press SET to do that. The RESET button is there in case you change your mind and want FS to control it all instead.

Please re-check the documentation. There is a step-by-step guide to calibration there, and the only place it tells you to press "Reset" is in the section on "RESETTING DEFAULTS", where it definitely says "If you want to switch any of this off, either de-select them individually (pressing the Reset button disables the FSUIPC axis processing actions and restores defaults), or ..."

Pete
