rog54 Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Hello! I was attempting to lock a panel window on a Embraer 145 panel created by Bill Grabowski and shortly afterward I noticed several things. Levers & knobs missing, no text on the panel, no mouse activation of switches. I am not suggesting FSUIPC did it but I am trying to back track and undo what I have messed up. My question is does FSUIPC write to any files MSFS or panel specific files? If so I might be able to go to them and compare, previous to currently installed? Any other thoughts or comments would be helpful. Thanks, Roger
Pete Dowson Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 My question is does FSUIPC write to any files MSFS or panel specific files? No, none at all. Esound, AdvDisplay and (I think) all add sections to the Panel.CFG file if they are configured to do panel-specific things, but FSUIPC doesn't touch any of it. Any other thoughts or comments would be helpful. Sorry, I really have no idea what would do that. Certainly a corrupt PANEL.CFG file could lose you gauges -- just one line missing will do that. All the "gaugeNN= ..." lines in each Window need to be consecutively present. If one of the numbers is missing, FS stops scanning for more gauges in that window, so they would be missing. Regards, Pete
rog54 Posted February 9, 2004 Author Report Posted February 9, 2004 thanks Pete! I found my problem. With Bills ERJ panel there are two .GAU files necessary I was missing one. While I've got you though, under the technical tab there is a choice called "stop cockpit sizing and moving" it sounds like something I need but this is what I have. When reaching for the flaps lever or parking brake if I am not very careful I end up moving the entire screen rather than activating the lever. I thought that the above setting would stop that from happening but on this panel it doesn't. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting the intended function? Roger

If enabled it prevents FSUIPC from doing it's job to stop sizing and moving. HTH, Frank
