FSUIPC & WideFS

Hi

I have just recently upgraded to FS9 so of course I needed to get the lastest versions of the above.

Reading the documentation has me a little confused, my understanding is that WideFS will now not work with FSUIPC if FSUIPC isn't registered, or that I now need to purchase WideFS even though FSUIPC may or may not be registered at the time??

Is this correct?

No, that is not true. If you want to use WideFS you have to register it, but you do not need to register FSUIPC unless you want to use it's optional features. WideFS will run all FSUIPC client programs on the clients even if they are not accredited to run direct to FSUIPC on the Server.

That second part is correct. If you do want to register both you make a saving but only if you purchase them at the same time.

That does clarify things. I will be purchasing both in the near future, just wanted to do some testing first, as it looks like I will have to 'upgrade' a few things anyway.
