ASTRO Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Hi, I have installed a registrated version of FSUIPC and I am very pleased what that program can do. It's really worth every penny I spend on the registerated version. I hacked 2 joysticks and have about 20 programmble buttons. I hacked only one pov hat switch per joystick because in fs 2002/2004 only one function can be attributed to the pov's of a joystick. I've read the explanation in the FSUIPC user guide but it's not clear to me if I can use all the pov switches and attribute them to different function using fsuipc. If this is the case I could even have more programmble buttons. Is this possible?? Since my joysticks are dismanteled and hacked I can't try this right away , I have to solder. So it would be nice to know before I start working on this if it will work. Thanks, Didier
vfsintes Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Yes sir, you get 4 more buttons usually with a 45 46 or47 number.
Pete Dowson Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 I've read the explanation in the FSUIPC user guide but it's not clear to me if I can use all the pov switches and attribute them to different function using fsuipc. POV hats either have 4 or 8 positions. If the POV is genuinely supported as a POV in Windows (see Game Controllers), then those 4 or 8 positions will be seen and encoded separately by FSUIPC. Like FS2000 used to do, FSUIPC encodes the 8 positions with button numbers ranging from 32 to 39. If the POV only has 4 positions you will get alternate numbers. It is only since FS changed to using Direct Input that it has restricted the assignment of POVs to a single function. Regards, Pete
