FSUIPC 3.4x and FS2002 Dreamfleet B734

Recommended Posts

Hi Pete,

I have several Dreamfleet B737-400 users telling me they have problems with their panel after installing FSUIPC v3.4x (we also tested v3.45)

main problem reported is that the course selection button is not working.

version 2.974 is working fine but we can't use that due to the mutitasking issues reported with pre 3.4x FSUIPC.

another strange thing is that one of them is also reporting that the fsuipc.key file is missing - I mailed him a fsuipc.key file containing only our fsint.dll freeware key - but no change..

below is the logfile - I pressume the issue is related to the illegal read attempt?

2.974 is not only several years old, but it wasn't even the last version supported for FS2002!

What are "mutitasking issues reported with pre 3.4x FSUIPC." I'm afraid I don't understand what that is about at all.

How is your panel dealing with course selection? FSUIPC has nothing to do with that part of FS, it is left to FS and your gauges. Surely you do not use FSUIPC to access this?

another strange thing is that one of them is also reporting that the fsuipc.key file is missing

Missing from what? No .KEY file is supplied with FSUIPC. Like the INI and LOG files it is generated when FSUIPC runs, and FSUIPC runs if it is installed correctly in the FS Modules folder. It sounds to me like either the user does not know how to use Windows Explorer to see files, or has not actually installed FSUIPC yet.

What issue? Surely you are not using FSUIPC for anything to do with course? What do you use FSUIPC for?

It seems quite clear that you have a gauge (DF734NJ6.GAU) which attempting to use FSUIPC but which is not accredited to use it. I have no record of a key ever being issued for this gauge. The gauge appears to be reading part of the AI TCAS tables, so presumably it wants to populate a TCAS radar or ND. Again, this really has nothing to do with course selection.

Pete

2.974 is not only several years old, but it wasn't even the last version supported for FS2002!

apparently its the version installed with Dreamfleet B737

the setup is as follows: FS2002 + Dreamfleet B737

setup of FSUIPC 3.45 was done by copying all the files from FSUIPC.ZIP into the modules folder (removed all files related to FSUIPC first - dll, key, log, ini)

after running FS no fsuipc.key file was found in the modules folder (yes I turned on the file suffixes in explorer)

What are "mutitasking issues reported with pre 3.4x FSUIPC." I'm afraid I don't understand what that is about at all.

sorry - wrong choice of words... I was refering to the multithreading as mentioned in http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=34788&sid=19795558b88911e0b26455a548900e6d

the Dreamfleet gauge apparently does ...

Is Dreamfleet B737 accredited for FSUIPC v3.45 ?

(it apparently was for v2.9xx)

just to confirm - at the moment I'm not using FSUIPC 3.45 for anything else then Dreamfleet B737 on FS2002

but I will need a v3.4x or newer to be able to use IVAP (fsint.dll) in the next phase...

Thanks Pete,

Filip

So the DF737 hasn't been updated to work with an unregistered FSUIPC 3. You'd need to have FSUIPC 3 user-registered (i.e. paid for) in that case.

setup of FSUIPC 3.45 was done by copying all the files from FSUIPC.ZIP into the modules folder (removed all files related to FSUIPC first - dll, key, log, ini)

You only need change the DLL.

after running FS no fsuipc.key file was found in the modules folder

Ah. In that case it will be because nothing provided a Key to be saved.

Is Dreamfleet B737 accredited for FSUIPC v3.45 ?

(it apparently was for v2.9xx)

No accreditation was needed before 3.00. FSUIPC was free even for commercial aircraft back then.

You will need to purchase FSUIPC in that case. Or use a freeware aircraft or one which has paid for its access to FSUIPC.

Hello Pete, hello Filip,

I also use the DF737 with FS2002 and want to use the new IvAp-Client with fsuipc.dll >= 3.4.x.

I now have registered my fsuipc.dll as you mentioned above.

With fsuipc.2.9.x everything works fine, but with (registered) fsuipc.3.4.5 I have the same problem as Vincent in Post:

http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=15757

I get the following Error-Messages every second:

"Read slots failed, Read change failed, Read size failed, proccess 1 failed"

The DF737-Panel has TCAS and the problem might be there.

What has changed between 2.9.x and 3.4.x with the TCAS-Structure ? And what kind of solution could be possible ?

Thanks for any help,

Steve

It's me once again.

Hello Pete,

I played around with your TrafficLook-Tool and I think my problem above is not a DF737 problem, it is an AI FS2002 with fsuipc.3.4.x problem.

When I start fs2002 with (registered) fsuipc.2.9.x your TrafficLook-Tool shows me a lot of traffic. Fine.

When I start the same situation with (registered) fsuipc.3.4.x your TrafficLook-Tool shows no AI-Traffic :?

I guess that the problem of the DF737-Panel is that it get no AI-Traffic data from fsuipc.3.4.x as your TrafficLook-Tool.

The question is, is there somebody who has fs2002, fsuipc.3.4.x and TrafficLook works correct ?

Thanks for any help,

Steve

There's no such thing as a "registered" FSUIPC 2.9x -- registration wasn't introduced until 3.00. Also, TrafficLook works with unregistered installs as it has an access key built in. It sounds like it is a bad User key problem you have. Zip up your FSUIPC.KEY file and send it to me at petedowson@btconnect.com so I can check it.

IVAO here I'm back again 8)

Sorry, I just ment that I didn't remove the Key-File when trying the older version.

I did'nt imagine a problem with my Key-File. I removed it and build it up again and now it works :D

Thanx again and bye bye,

Steve
