FS9 problem possibly FSUIPC linked

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with my FS9. When I initially use it there is no problem. However if I use it a subsequent time it will not load. A warning comes up stating I have a FSUIPC Problem. It states I have a duplicate copy and must remove the old one from my modules. I have tried to find this duplicate but cannot find it. However when I turn the Computer off it will not close until I press an end now tab for FS9 exe which as far as I am aware has not been running. Any ideas anybody please?

Yes. Something installed in your FS9 is not closing down correctly when you terminate FS, and this is actually stopping the session being closed -- the windows are all closed, but this add-on (probably another DLL rather than a Gauge) is still running and waiting for some event.

You can deal with it each time by using Ctrl-Alt-Del and closing the Process from the task manager's Process list (FS9.EXE), but you really need to find out what does it. Certainly earlier versions of ActiveCamera could do this, and also, I've heard, some versions of WidevieW. There may be others. Check each added-in DLL to start with.

The reason FSUIPC complains and prevents you continuing with a second instance of FS is that there would then be two instances of the FSUIPC interface for applications, and this would cause problems when you tried to run other programs. Those problems would be much more difficult to diagnose.

Regards,

Pete
