WhiteDragon
Hi all, i'm sorry to ask this, because i'm sure this information is already somewhere, but i was not able to find it. I've tried to use FSUIPC sdk (C language), but every time i start the demo program (UIPCHello.c) the message box that display the time in fs2004 contain this message: "Sim is FS2004, FSUIPC Version=3.480 Request for time OK: FS clock = 00:00:00" So it seem to not work properly, because the real time in FS2004 is 14:01:30. Is it a problem about the registration key? Thanks in advance WD
Pete Dowson
So it seem to not work properly, because the real time in FS2004 is 14:01:30. Is it a problem about the registration key? Possibly. Did you purchase a user registration key for FSUIPC? You do really need to if you want to undertake software development for it. WhiteDragon
So it is not a freeware program? i think to have a bit of confusion in my mind :?
Pete Dowson
So it is not a freeware program? i think to have a bit of confusion in my mind :? No, it isn't. FSUIPC is free for users to use with accredited freeware programs -- i.e. ones which have keys provided. It is normally free to users of payware programs where the payware authors or publishers have come to a commercial licensing agreement and so have access keys programmed into their products. It is payware for users of all of the extra features, as documented quite clearly. Developers normally have to pay too, because this gives uncluttered access to the interface during development -- allowing debugging and so forth. This applies no matter whether the result is freeware, shareware or payware, or just for private use and not "ware" at all. Consider the payment to register FSUIPC as the developer's "entry fee", fee, to help fund the work carried out on the SDK and also for the developer support you will get. WhiteDragon
Hi Pete, i would like to make a freeware panel for air-air refuelling operation. The panel will drop out the fuel from the tank at established rate or will refuel the aircraft at established rate. This is really nice if the refuel is done in a network. I've read this in your forum: All genuine freeware programs get free access keys on application. so i want to ask: for this (freeware) panel could i get a free fsuipc key? or do you know some other method to change the quantity of fuel in the tank? Thanks in advance, WD
Pete Dowson
so i want to ask: for this (freeware) panel could i get a free fsuipc key? Yes of course -- not for the panel, but for the gauge which is using FSUIPC. Details are in the Access Registration document inside the SDK. or do you know some other method to change the quantity of fuel in the tank? I am not familitar enough with the recent panel SDKs for MS to say, sorry. I don't think it was possible with the original C/C++ interface, but maybe the XML interface is more extensive.
